Bonfire of the Absurdities: After 35 year career writing software for IBM mainframes, am now self-employed contractor thinking of joining a union and striking for higher wages. Cured morbid fear of heights when I learned to look at them as lengths standing on end. Uncompromising in refusal to accept browser cookies. Amateur investor who has accumulated a small fortune in the market after starting out years ago with a large one. For recreation, I run, hike, kayak and play tennis but will not consider synchronized swimming under any circumstances.

    • Not so creative, Silent. Childish name calling takes neither wit, maturity nor insight. The right wingnut websites (most of which are financed by the Top 1%, most of whom wouldn't spit on you if you were on fire) feed you silly games like this just to win your loyalty (and thereby get you to support THEIR best interests in the voting booth).

      In other words, none of this says much of anything about Obama---but it says a whole lot about how easily you're manipulated.

            I can tell you EXACTLY why you call Obama childish names, and it has nothing whatsoever to do with liberals or Bush. You do it because the right wing media (who are owned and controlled by big business interests) are egging you on. Why? To create a distraction. They've discovered that, as long as they keep the Great Unwashed Right fat, dumb and happy, and focused on hating Obama, they'll be compliant. And a dumb, compliant populace serves their purposes perfectly.

            So keep on dreaming up silly, childish names. I do get a chuckle out of watching you guys swell up with pride at being able to do something that most four year olds could do just as well. :>D

            You are right about the reasoning behind the hate from these people, I would add to that real racism in my case and in your case and in the case of others around the site I would say they treat you as their ancestors would have treated abolitionists.

            You see I don't act like I should... you know a slave that is on welfare when I shouldn't be and dependant on the Democrats and living on the Progressive plantation and voting for entitlements. Being okay with very very little under the guise that I am better off a slave because life is just too damn hard for non-whites. Because you know Blacks are not THAT smart and able to handle real life. In their minds, ALL Blacks should be slaves (no matter if they are rich), but of course they won't say that, they will say that they are taking care of Blacks, but intelligent people like you and Rose and Poppa and others around the site know what is up and therefore we get DTs.

            I thought we were being ushered into the post-racial America once Obama took office, but that fool just made it worst and then we get trolls all up in here stoking that racial divide. It is sickening.

            What a foolish assumption to make, Kimmy. Just because a brown skinned American was elected president doesn't mean that deeply ingrained bigotry was magically washed out of every American's mind and perception.

            Personally, I think the idea of a "post racial America" is an unattainable myth. As long as there are people who want to believe they're inherently superior to other people, we're going to see racism, sexism, ageism, and all those other -isms born of intolerance.

            Then there's the problem of political manipulators who use racism as a means of keeping part of the populace openly opposing everything Obama does. They have their reasons for doing this (none of which are altruistic in nature), but it poisons the political atmosphere. It also resurrects ugly stereotypes that should have been allowed to die off a long time ago.

They systematically programmed you righties not to trust science or the "intelligentsia," and then heaped flattery on you as "real" Americans, while validating the worst of your prejudices. From there, it was a snap to get you to swallow all sorts of Obamaphobic hogwash. If it didn't reflect so badly on our country, I'd be amused at just how quickly you fell for their manipulations.
