If you ask the overwhelming majority of gay people, they, just as the overwhelming majority of straight people they'd tell you pedophiles are scum deserving nothing less than being drawn and quartered. Most have children in their families and/or children of their own they would kill or die to protect. Gay people are attracted to their own gender, that's it. Pedophiles are sociopaths driven to harm innocent children and straight or gay deserve nothing less than annihilation. There is a difference.
The NAMBLA types insist they aren't harming anyone. There certainly is a difference. Another perspective might suggest considering whether anyone with a sense of self preservation would admit to approving of pedophilia.
Decades ago, homosexuality was widely considered to be an aberration worthy of severe consideration and prejudice. Having become one former perversion through acceptance in the mainstream, one might harbor consternation about what perversions will be approved of next.
