• I have family members that work for some if the larger food chains in the area. It kills them that they must throw away perfectly good food away rather then distribute it to those who need it. I'm assuming that those laws were written by the same idiots who now have composed a law that punishes you for doing what they themselves have made mandatory.... I'm confused.

  • And like in NYC, where they punish people for giving free food to the homeless because they aren't government approved food distributors.

  It isn't being spent on school food, I'm guessing union coffers are the distribution point. From there "political contributions" ( pay offs and personal retirement accounts)

  • The increased carting fees for the dumpsters.
    They need to be emptied much more often.

    • Wonder how this works in the People's Republic of Seattle? You know they now fine the common folk for throwing away food..are they going to fine the schools? Are they going to shame them too?

      • No, they just have to have a compost heap out back. It'll be a learning experience for the kids.

• This is more about lazy food service people than the Govrrnment regulations. While I agree that the regulations have resulted in a great deal of waste and . A decrease in kidsgetting balanced meals at school. But nowhere does the regulations suggest serving outdated, moldy food. And I noticed one of the meals was a bologna sandwich. I thought they were forbidding meals like that if parents sent them! My daughter is a school cafeteria manager, andshe hates the regulations, but they serve MUCH BETTER meals. She even introduces new fruits and veggies on taste it Tuesdays. They get to sample a new food, then it reappears at lunch. The kids love it!
