The slow death of the American republic: seven of nation’s ten wealthiest counties are in DC Area. “The only real industry in and around DC is government and the legions of power brokers who make their living greasing its wheels. People are getting rich and are therefore they are invested in accumulating more and more governmental power to extract money from the rest of the country.” Whether you call them the 1% as the #occutards did or the 47% as Mitt Romney did, these are the ones we need to focus on.

Bonfire of the Absurdities: After 35 year career writing software for IBM mainframes, am now self-employed contractor thinking of joining a union and striking for higher wages. We need to make it our national duty to elect only extremely constitutionally minded conservatives to office and hold their feet to the fire regarding tearing the levers of power from the grasping hands of the old guard denizen politicos and pundits. Then we need to downsize DC by 75%--down to below 11% of GDP. No more lifetime retirement for one term reps. and senators. No more cushy life styles at our expense. No more, I and my peeps can insider trade but you can't shit! No more laws against commerce! No more governmental education monopoly! We are their bosses and it's about time we let them know that. Forget the takers...they'll learn to work for their goodies--or not. Either way, it will be a win-win for us. Those that learn to work will learn to contribute to this society and those who don't will become wards of the state and ineligible to vote until they can finally become self sufficient. (Remember, this only pertains to that percentage of the 47% that professionally grift the system).
