  • All this talk about beer is making me thirsty. Guess I'll have an all-American meal tonight. Combo pizza w/a few Miller High Lifes. All the food groups are covered: your meat, bread, veggie, dairy, and fruit (tomatoes). I feel healthier already.

  • I am allergic to beer. I can't drink it, my reaction is to belch painfully for about 10 minutes & then puke it out. I can't do NA beer either.

      • I tried beer a couple of times. Just plain don't like it. My friends all told me I had to acquire a taste for it. I said I could acquire a taste for cat crap if I wanted to, but why would I?

    • Rest assured my friend, while the rest of us feel your pain, we will do as any good friend would and make sure to consume your share also.

In fact I am working on part of your share as I type. (It HAS to be your share, as my Frau said I have had more than my share already.)

  • Eventually, everything they used to tell us was bad for us, will turn out to be good for us. Well, everything but Barry, that is.

  • During the Middle Ages global warming crisis, beer was the healthy drink because water and other drinks made from it made people sick. Turns out that there were mucho bacteria in water (no sterilization or filtering, and people used rivers for toilets - bacteria's role in disease would not be discovered until the 19th century) and serendipitously, the alcohol in beer killed the bacteria so it didn't make people ill.

    • This is How Beer Saved the World. While it is humorous the story is true, these things really did come about because of brewing beer. -

Produced by a large brewing company, this is only as truthful and unbiased as it needs to be for general consumption, but well worth the watching. I always find myself needing a beer shortly after beginning to watch, or really any other time I

      • I watched this recently on Netflix. Very fun documentary! And afterwards I had to have myself a cold one!

      • I wonder what happened to the voluminous text that finished that post out? I've forgotten what it was by now. This lapdog keyboard has a secret combo that I inadvertently hit frequently which wipes off huge portions of my pending entry. I usually go about rekeying if it isn't too long. Other times I delete the whole enchilada and pretend to never have said anything at all. What ever the instance though, it always pisses me off royal like when it happens. This time is unusual in that I did not notice it until way too late to do anything about.

I find myself wanting a beer, just like any other time.

    • Now you're going to have Al Gore buying breweries and touting his new Global Warming Fat Ale.

    • That plus the heating of the beer during the brewing process killed much of the bacteria also.

  • I have a few reasons for drinking beer, and one just entered my head. If a man can't drink beer when he's living, how the hell can he drink one when he's dead?
Beer is proof that god loves us, and want's us to be happy.

  • BEER....it's what's for dinner!!!

You get all the calories of a baked potato in one can/bottle. No need to dress it with bacon, cheese, butter or sour cream, just open it and drink it.

  • I've never liked the taste of beer. I actually like wine and wine coolers much better. I think the men in parts of France and Italy who drink a lot of red wine don't get much heart disease or male-related cancers.
