  • Stupid Democrat last night on O'Reilly stated that she preferes the moniker climate change... well... of course she does! If we stick with global warming this entire scenario is pathetically hilarious, but if we manage to change to climate change well, they can say that this anomaly IS part of the problems of the world concerning the Planet and they can't ever loose a climate argument. It is really pathetic.

      • Climate change is a great descriptor when one strives for pure meaningless ambiguity. We all know the climate changes. Always has and always will. Calling it an "issue" is akin to labeling sunrise a dangerous celestial event.

        • In the 22nd century it will all fall under the rubric of terraforming, available as planetary scale product both here on Terra, and on other worlds.

          • You think that soon? I'm not sure we get out of this century as technologically advanced as we are now.

          • Agreed its a minefield ahead.. at best we might just be planting roots on Mars. Practical interstellar travel might still be centuries off. The next great paradigm shifts in basic physics may be uncovered by AIs working with human scientists. That class of AIs will also be assisting in the design of superior AI. I'm not sure we can get through that as an intact civilization

            By then "climate change" of the kind being modeled should fall farther to the bottom of global concerns

          • That's assuming we don't plunge into a global Mohamedan dark age in the next several years. Odd that the Fascist/Communist existential threat encouraged scientific and technological progress but the Muslims, who present an equally dire existential threat, want to move us back several hundred years in most ways.

          • I still don't believe they have the capacity. Islamists can harm us grievously (rogue nukes), but they risk annihilation doing so. Even if the Caliphate brought its former domains under a single banner (hell, throw in Al-Andulus for sport), it would be vulnerable to all the mechanisms of modern warfare, in ways their horse-spanned realms were not centuries ago.

            Though such turmoil, given sufficient energy, might destabilize the world order and usher in some kind of fascist global dominion, I suppose. We have always been at war with Ummah

  • "Stuck in the ice for 13 days", look at all the time they've had to fudge the temperature data. Sadly none of them are going to end up like Shackleton, millions will be spent to rescue their sorry lying asses.

  • There is a very simple solution, super glue "inconvenient idiot" gore to the front of the vessel, if that perpetual bag of hot air does not melt the ice, than its not possible to break through and we'll have to call it "weather", than perhaps the emperor could mount a huge publicity show of sending snowmobiles, dog sleds, maybe even a couple of special ops units in (that he has thoroughly trained and briefed) the two miles to rescue those "tourist" its all on tax payer money anyway.

    • Actually, it seems that they're all having a wonderful paid vacation, playing with the penguins and partying on the ice floe. Justice has yet to be served.

  • Sure seems hard to find evidence of global warming, which is supposed to be happening everywhere all the time. No surprise though the media reality deniers are avoiding coverage. Yet another instance where green geniuses try to pound the round peg of AGW doctrine into the square hole of reality and are again suprised it doesn't work.
