Yeah, I don't know why Bennett would say something like that when that's pretty much not only what terrorists themselves said but is also what the CIA termed as "blowback."

The decision to go to war is not individual, it is collective. What one soldier on the battlefield determines to be right or wrong is fairly moot when one considers the big picture.
I'll respect the guys opinion because he saw combat in WW2. I don't agree with it, but he earned the right to make stoopid comments like this.
I agree somewhat. I hope we can agree that I don't have to respect him nor his opinion, just acknowledge that he has rights to make it and to have earned the right to make comments like this due to his age and the fact that he has been a solid citizen including going to war. I think this opinion is not something that I can respect. Most of the people that died that day were civilians, not politicians, lawmakers, policy makers, military, etc. Even if you count those that were not civilians in the pentagon and you count the federal works (the firemen and police), I cannot agree that even though part of the government, they were still at fault for what others even decades before hand decided to do. Those hijackers had they attacked SOLELY military areas I can understand going after those areas. I would still be pissed off, but it is obvious tht this is an act of war, going after civilians in retaliations for decisions made by leaders in government is pathetic and disgusting because it is an act of war AND terror meant to destroy us a individual people and as citizens of the country.
Agreed, & I will say he's correct, but not for the reasons he gives. We had the info on the attack in bits & pieces, but they were in different parts of the gov't intel agencies. That "wall of seperation" was criminal in my opinion, because it kept our agencies from sharing the data/info that could have been pieced together to prevent 9/11. Jamie Gorelick has plenty to answer for involving 9/11, but she was ON the 9/11 Commision, instead of being in front of it. But that's not all, she was involved with Fannie Mae as well. She walked away with over $25million dollars from 1998-2002, while helping to construct the Fannie/Freddie meltdown. As Yakov Smirnoff used to say, "What a country".
