Top psychiatrist says transgenderism is a mental disorder

Top psychiatrist says transgenderism is a mental disorder and sex change is biologically impossible. Oooo boy, is this guy in trouble! The Political Correctness Enforcement Unit from the Borg Hive will be knocking on his door shortly.

  • Just remember, 50 years ago homosexuality was listed as a mental illnessin the DSM. I personally have always thought gender identity issues were mental illnesses. I thought it was so sad, and the ultimate hatred of, and rejection of self.

    • Except over the last 50 years there has been a significant increase of scientific research on homosexuality to show that it is not a "mental illness".

      • Wrong.

No research, just politically motivated rewriting of the manuals.

And I like how you say the research has happened over the last 50 years. So, according to that timeline, you're saying that they decided it wasn't a mental illness and THEN did the research.

      • No, there hasn't. That's a myth. Gay propagandists keep trying to argue that homosexuality is genetic, constantly citing research that proved no such thing, but no such gene or group of genes has really been found. An international team of researchers asserted in 2012 that it was epigenetic, and/or what we used to call congenital, but even that research was exploratory, not really explaining the process physically. And more importanty, if it's something that happens in the womb, that falls right in line with labeling it a disorder. There are all kinds of conditions that arise in the womb that we label disorders.

We can and must label homosexuality a disorder because the effects on the people who suffer from it are so stark and quantifiable. Life expectancies ten to twenty years less than the rest of us, astronomical rates of venereal diseases, and documented tendencies toward depression and suicide. If that doesn't add up to the definition of a disorder, then the word has no meaning.

  • Science WILL find a way (and soon!) to alter your DNA.

You can't say "trangenderism is a sickness" or "transgenderism is a sin" and use as your basis for this belief the notion that it can't be done. Because what, then, do you argue when it CAN be done?

Beliefs have to have at their foundation "I don't care WHAT science comes up with, I believe [such and such]."

    • science is a tool in G-D'S hands. What it doesn't need to happen because G-d wont allow, it won't happen.

    • if you mean altering a fetus outside or in the uterus, that would not be the embryo's own choice, but of those implementing the alteration.

but then again, we do have chemicals being sprayed on us, on our food, GMO's altering the food, poisons in our water, etc. so i suppose we might be able to alter DNA post-birth???

now if only they could spray that shit on ISIS like a big fucking can of RAID.

      • Think about the transhumanism nuts and their desire to put their brains into completely manufactured bodies. They will then invent genders.

Is that intrinsically sinful? I think so. I think it's flat-out blasphemy.

        • man-made humanoids or hybrids, etc... yeah, no thanks. dumbing down populations is already bad enough. hopefully, we'll have self-destructed by then.

    • I guess if science finds a way to alter DNA for anything one desires, the notion of normal is gone forever. Think Brave New World and the human decanting process.

  • but i do admit every group has its extremes... and i also cringe at the militant mob-think suffrage society. there are so many these days.

  • Living where I do this is like no big deal anymore. I used to deal with gays, lesbians, transgenders, etc., all the time. Frankly their money spends as good as anyone else's. What they do on their own time isn't my business or problem.

    • It's a matter of who steers the ship of the culture. Some things are harmless on the fringe and in the underground but disastrous in the mainstream.

It's like hippies. If they want to live out of a VW van, go around barefoot and smelly, and play a wooden flute in the park all day, fine. I don't want them running the country or making foreign policy decisions.

    • I agree that in most cases, I would take their money too. As long as all I am being asked to do is to tolerate their presence and respect them as fellow human beings I have no problems with that. I don't mind serving nor being served by a transsexual nor a gay person that is making it OBVIOUS that they are gay. It is what it is. They have the right to live on the Earth as much as me.

Only in certain behavioral circumstances I would rather not participate like baking a cake or taking pictures of a so called gay wedding. I wouldn't want to participate in any activity that I philosophically or religiously disagree with. It is my right. Just as it is their right to not expect me to barge into their business and force them to pray with me for their soul salvation or I will sue. It is preposterous to even contemplate that. I don't understand why gays and others don't see the preposterous nature of their actions against those that they disagree with.

I agree with JP on the issue that just like I abhor and decry the fact that in some small way I am being forced to pay for abortions that should not be happening, I abhor and decry the fact that many people are also taking our money to pay for their behaviors and their un-natural (against nature) desires to be a gender that they weren't design to be.

There are also a lot of slippery slopes situations where parents will basically won't be able to go out with their children, children will be exposed to things that as children they shouldn't be exposed to and certainly even though I am not a child I don't want to be exposed to it myself which is what I am saying: Myself and others are being forced to participate, however small, in the behaviors of others that are un-natural.

    • Trouble is, more and more often it's not "their" money they're spending. It's our money they're spending. Even convicts in prison are expecting sexual reassignment surgery on the taxpayer's dime. And what does it cost to society to have men in dresses sharing bathrooms with little girls?

      • We have a place here in Tampa called Hamburger Mary's. It's got good food, and on the weekends it's big draw is a drag show. All the rest of the week, they have drag queen themed activities. All the waiters are quite flamboyant gay men.
While I don't particularly enjoy the drag show aspect of it, my wife and friends do, so I go along. The "women" in the show are in no way ever going to be mistaken as real women. I do enjoy teasing the waiters in a good humored way, and they know that I am not being mean.
I do appreciate the fact that the drag queens realize that I'm not particularly amused by their act, and don't push themselves on me as they work the crowd for tips. I also don't do anything to offend them.
My feeling is, as long as you don't try to force your proclivities on me, I have no problem with you doing whatever makes you happy. I won't harass you if you don't harass me. I find that works out very well. I do not appreciate those who feel the need to force everyone to condone and endorse their behavior. But then, it's usually those that are the over the top, loudmouth people, that are clamoring for attention and approval.

      • JP I'm referring to gay people who work for a living and spend their own money. As far as me paying for their sex change, nope, don't wanna do that.

        • Yeah, I don't turn up my nose at the sight of a homosexual or run at every gay person shouting, "You're a sinner!" I know some very nice people who are gay, a couple of whom are semi-regular overnight guests in my home. I don't think their sin is necessarily any worse than my sins. Difference is, I recognize my sins and eventually confess them and make an effort to reconcile with God. As a Christian, I'm taught to be honest when the subject of sin is broached. If a friend asks me point-blank about cheating on his wife, my duty is to tell him it's a sin and a bad idea and explain how it will hurt both his marriage and his soul. Same thing with a gay man: if he asks me point-blank, my duty as a friend and a Christian is to tell him the truth.

  • i hate to say it but as a queer i know this. not really that big of a deal. you go into it knowing it's a cosmetic change to match your disorder. the way i look at it is: everyone pissed me off for x years, now it's my turn. :)

like this website says, "if we didn't laugh, we'd cry."
charles krauthammer credits his success to denial.
    so do i.
you can be cripple and be a shrink, an author, and a TV star.
you can be queer and not a left-tard.
if you have a problem with that, then you have a problem with self-determination and success.

    • You're correct, being wrong about one thing does not mean you have to be wrong about everything but equating being a cripple with being homosexual is typical false equivalence. One is a physical state of being, the other is a behavior. And as for sexual reassignment surgery, I think if these people paid for it on their own an didn't try to make every example a federal case, few of us would have an issue with it. We would merely feel sorry for them. But that's not what they're doing: what they're doing is demanding special rights and demanding that the rest of us pay for their confusions.

      • not my problem that anyone demands society pick up the tab, if that's what you mean. i didn't take that route nor do i advocate for it. unfortunately, you'd have to inquire from everyone to see if you might or might not be agreeable with them. perhaps it's easier to just write it all off. luckily, i didn't need your approval. :) God bless the free market, indeed.

      • Problem is, there are plenty of effing Lefttards who are more than willing to help them make us "pay for their confusion."

      • That is the THING that I actively and publicly object to: Being "asked" (however "nicely") to in SOME way or another participate in the behaviors of peoples, whom I philosophically or religiously disagree with. Just as any person out there wouldn't appreciate my forcing them to participate in behaviors that they may look down upon as ancient or ridiculous or abhorrent, as it is their right, it is also my right to be exempted from being asked and from being forced to participate even in a small way. I also don't have to agree, I just have to simply tolerate their behaviors and have the right to not have those behaviors be imposed upon me.

  • I don't know if it still exists, but Denton, Texas had an all female college there years ago.(70's- 80's)

    • Texas Woman's University. Sister school to Texas A&M. Wentthere myself. No longerva Women's school, though. They accept men.

    • I see an opening for a rambunctious and enterprising young man who wants a lot of women all to himself. Hell, if I was 18...

      • JP, just how cute would you expect a group of women to be that voluntarily go to college in an all female college in Oakland? Not to mention the fact that there will be men that are trannies going there too.
I'd rather take my chances in a coed college.

  • Post Presidency will now be even more of a difficult transition to the King of The Orcs .

I'm sure Reggie will somehow be disappointed . Michelle , in her own way , will now have to figure out how to live with her self . Her dresses were WAY too big for him anyway .

The Life of the self serving Liberal, more decisions , decisions , decisions .

  • Good use of terminology. Biologically (G-d Made) it is impossible (on the inside). Surgically (Man Made) it is possible (on the outside), however what TRULY matters which is the Biological part of gender, does not work and therefore it IS a mental disorder.
