The private equity money that rescued the firm from its first bankruptcy is DEMOCRAT, Tim Collins of Ripplewood (an acquaintance of former House Democrat leader Dick Gephardt.) BTW, the Teamsters union seems to lay the blame on the Bakery, Confectionary, Tobacco and Grain Millers International Union (BCTGM) for refusing to go along with the Teamsters to accept the last offer from Hostess.

    • Why? Have you had a look at him? He's a heart attack in a suit with a bad 70's porn-stache. Hell, I'll go as far as to say that there is at least a 50/50 chance that this guy will be at an event giving a speech at some marxist gathering, & he'll clutch his chest & die on the stage. Plus, since EVERYONE has phones that take decent quality video, we will see it on the news & YouTube. It will make for good viewing.

But here's Mitt Romney and Bain Capital to the rescue! And so the demise of Hostess is Romney's and Bain's fault, even though they had nothing to do with the defunct corporation.

  • Fat boy Rich and his I've got to have it all union killed Hostes. Business exist to make a profit. If there's no profit there's no business. It's a simple model but it does truly work. Union leaders need to understand that if they work with business their members will have jobs. If they don't, soon the membership drops, dues drops and the buying of dim wit votes stops. Trumka keep doing what you are doing. Soon your fat ass will have to start working for your check.

  • Trumpka, like Obama, use the bully model to keep power. Angrily blame someone else for your problems so they don't look too closely at what you had to do with the affair. Power-hungry Stalinist types need this because they are screw-ups by nature and can only retain power, which they so desperately want, by making sure their followers do not get angry with them.

    On a larger scale, every Arab government uses this technique on a daily basis, blaming all problems on Israel to detract from their own dictatorial mismanagement.

    • He is 1 of the reasons I want America to get what it voted for. The people he represents are going to get it where it hurts, & I won't lose any sleep over it. Trumka will never be hurt by what's going on, but "his people" will. I have said this is about addiction, & usually addicts won't learn to kick their problem until they hit bottom. It's very clear we have not hit bottom as a nation, not yet anyway.
