U.N. appoints dictator thug Robert Mugabe as ambassador for tourism. Never mind that his ethnic cleansing, rigged elections, terrorising of his own citizens, and destruction of Zimbabwe’s economy resulted in international sanctions which prevent him from traveling to other countries. Never mind that. The U.N. thinks he has hidden talents in the field of tourism.

And the US remains a dues paying, card carrying member?????????????? I'd like to see the entire hive of thieves/cut throats tossed out of NYC - and moved to Zimbabwe - where they could all be greeted and welcomed by their new Ambassador of Tourism.
I have an idea: how about an international league of nations that is exclusively for democracies who respect individual liberty? You don't have bonafide elections, you don't get to join. Since democracies are the nations which tend to succeed, all the economic power would reside in this new, exclusive club... and all the tinpot dictators and Muslim nutjobs could go have their own U.N.-type pretense in some other city.
And this should remove any doubt that the UN is one of the most fucked organizations out there. No wonder "Dear Leader"wanted to be the leader, he fits right in with the rest of these criminal gangsters.
So a morally bankrupt international organization hires a corrupt, murderous thug as a tourism ambassador . Sort of like the League of Nations hiring Adolph Hitler as an advocate for ethnic and religious tolerance.
I wonder how much the UN will pay this aging, senile gangster for what is undoubtedly a no-show job.
