    Like California, which is probably less than a year from being in the same situation, Illinois has been living in a dream world. And what do those two states have in common? Democrat controlled.

    • But, it's illegal for them to go bankrupt, so, they'll either get bailed out by us, or they could split up the state and let neighboring states absorb the pieces.

      • Who says it's illegal to go bankrupt? Bankruptcy is a state of existence, not something that can be stopped by declaring it illegal. If they can't pay their bills and people start taking them to court, the court has to make decisions about who gets paid and how much they get, and whether that happens in official bankruptcy court or in a regular court, it's still bankruptcy.

  • While I relish in the shortening of our road construction season here in Illinoistan, I can't believe this is happening. We have immense taxes here, income and ontherwise. We pay giant taxes on gas-which should cover all road work and then leave a massive surplus fund-but alas, they've pillaged it to pay for special interests, and to give illegal aliens free fucking tuition.
    Like the 250K Illinoisans who split last year, I and my family are leaving this year, never to come back, not even to visit. To quote the venerable poet Chuck D: "we outta here like last year-we ghost".

    • Come on down to Texas. The left wing retards are invading the state at a pretty alarming rate because we have jobs and an affordable cost of living. Bringing their inbred political ideology with them, we've become a purple state. We need more conservatives to swing us back to solid red.

      • That's what they've been doing in Nevada, especially Reno which gets a constant influx of whacko San Francisco liberals who flee the mess they've created there and then want LGBTQ-this and LGBTQ-that in Nevada.

  • The accents are authentic, btw. In Kalifornia, 90 percent of the observed road workers are Mexican nationals or the first generation children thereof. These aren't jobs the natives won't do either, if you remember that little bit of BS. Also another reason for them to support Democrats.

  • My first rule of investing is don't put a dime in anything that democrats have access to. Illinois, Cali, Puerto Rico and NY lead my list of places not to invest money. My broker even knows not to call me with munis from any of these places, no matter what the promised return. This rule has served me well
