• Confusion, gnashing of teeth, wringing of hands, nervousness, all symptoms of democrats being unable to deal with this story...I saw the Magic Forehead, Debbie Washerhands Much on one Fox this morning, she was trying to buck up Obama again and was badmouthing republicans...She kind walked sideways on the jobless question, wonder why? Probably knew this story was coming out and it don't help the Obamabots at all...

  These states have gone back to the failed policies of the GOP, but Barack Obama has successfully reached across party lines and managed to get these states in order, regardless of who the governor is....

• Telling the citizens of CA to vote Republican, citing that statistic, is kind of like saying the reason the barn door was open was because the horse ran off.

  Or maybe not.

  It either is or it isn't . It's not like I really thought that analogy through.

  In any case, let's say the voters all go off and vote for a Republican. Tthey did, remember? Okay, okay, it wasn't a REAL Republican, but Aaanold really did try to implement some changes, but got stymied by the legislature and unions - yes in CA that is basically the same thing. But they can elect Thomas Sowell, and then all continue to sit around on thier asses with their hands out, waiting for what they're "entitled to, duuuude", it wouldn't improve the situation.

  First they must change THEMSELVES and their way of thinking. THAT will result in an improving economy, and incidentally, the election of Republicans too.

  Remember folks - Republicans in government do not improve things. They just f_ck them up less. In some rare cases, a lot less.

  • Just remember that most of those elected in 2010 were "TEA Party" candidates, and not your "average" Repulican.

    • Yes, but they are not nearly influential enough, considering the party leadership is still all the old guard.

      And also - call me cynical, because I am - I've seen and heard Tea Party type candidates before there was a Tea Party, and many would slowly morph into Beltway insiders after a few years inside the quarantine (it is like a disease inside there, and keeping yourself immune is no easy task).

      I pray that is all works out, and more TPers get in and stay true to their principles, and figure out how to deal with the inevitable savaging they will get from the media. But I'm not holding my breath.

      My rather extreme-libertarian commentary about gov't was not intended as a smear on Republicans, but on the nature of gov't. By its very nature, it creates nothing, and only regulates. Which regulation, once it gets past the useful, such as murder, fraud, enforcement of contracts, repelling enemy invaders, etc., quickly becomes a form of choking off the private sector, which is the only place any useful production ever takes place.

      • That is why we must stay on task and repeat what happened in 2010, that will keep them on task. For far too long they have gotten away with things because generation after generation failed to hold politicians feet to the fire. This is what Ben Franklin meant when added his famous qualifier "if you can keep it" onto his response to the question of what kind of government we were given. So, you can be skeptical of those elected by all means but just make sure the fingers are pointed at "We the People" as well. Once we change, politicians will *have* to change as well.

  Warren Buffett, in a recent interview with CNBC, offers one of the best quotes about the debt ceiling:

  "I could end the deficit in 5 minutes," he told CNBC. "You just pass a law that says that anytime there is a deficit of more than 3% of GDP, all sitting members of Congress are ineligible for re-election.
  The 26th amendment (granting the right to vote for 18 year-olds) took only 3 months & 8 days to be ratified! Why? Simple! The people demanded it. That was in 1971 - before computers, e-mail, cell phones, etc.
  Of the 27 amendments to the Constitution, seven (7) took one (1) year or less to become the law of the land - all because of public pressure.
  Warren Buffet is asking each addressee to forward this email to a minimum of twenty people on their address list; in turn ask each of those to do likewise.
  In three days, most people in The United States of America will have the message. This is one idea that really should be passed around.
  Congressional Reform Act of 2012
  1. No Tenure / No Pension.
  2. A Congressman/woman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they're out of office.
  3. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security.
  4. All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people. It may not be used for any other purpose.
  5. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all
  Americans do.
  6. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.
  7. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.
  8. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people.
  9. All contracts with past and present Congressmen/women are void effective 12/1/12. The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen/women.

  Congress made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term(s), then go home and back to work.
  If each person contacts a minimum of twenty people then it will only take three days for most people (in the U.S. ) to receive the message. Don't you think it's time?

  • Those points have been floating around in e-mails and on facebook for some time now - and not once have I ever seen Warren Buffet's name associated with them. I too am of the belief that old Warren is far too concerned about his lack of being taxed enough and the amount of take home pay he gives his poor secretary.

• Poor "Dear Leader" must be ready to have a well deserved coronary now that the truth about how much his "Laser Like" focus on jobs has turned out to be yet another line of total Bullshit. But as he said, don't read too much into the last 41 months numbers.

  • I think what's happening here, is that Obama felt sorry for all those poor states that stupidly elected Republican Governors, so he sent all the jobs he created to those states so as to make them feel better.
