Unexpected: April private-sector jobs up 119K, well below forecasts

Unexpected: April private-sector jobs up 119K, well below forecasts. Median prediction was for 175K. March was revised downward from 209K to 201K. Another Recovery Bummer. Obama needs a way to take a few more Bin Laden victory laps – maybe he’ll send a scuba team to fish OBL out of the ocean, prop him up and shoot him again. Might make a good flick – “Weekend at Barry’s!”

Bonfire of the Absurdities: After 35 year career writing software for IBM mainframes, am now self-employed contractor thinking of joining a union and striking for higher wages. Cured morbid fear of heights when I learned to look at them as lengths standing on end. Uncompromising in refusal to accept browser cookies. Amateur investor who has accumulated a small fortune in the market after starting out years ago with a large one. For recreation, I run, hike, kayak and play tennis but will not consider synchronized swimming under any circumstances.

  • I don't know why everyone is so surprised about the low employment numbers, I have long been suspect of the numbers they have been putting out, every month they have to revise them downward.
Now that we're getting so close to election time, I suspect that they will release artificially low numbers so that they can be revised upward to show what a great job Barry is doing.
Unfortunately, the increase in unemployment is largely due to people trying to find the transcripts, the ex girlfriends, and birth certificate.
Do they even issue birth certificates in Kenya?
