That's probably because nobody can afford to pay people that dig ditches and empty trash over $20/hr.

So, what you're telling me is that non union people make almost 2x the minimum wage. Why can't they live on that? I know plenty of people who are doing ok on less than $13/hr.
They forgot to look for the union label.
