University of Florida frat expels 3 for allegedly spitting on wounded vets

• This story hits close to home. I'm a veteran and my son is an active ZBT at a different school. His chapter is receiving death threats and other forms of harassment.

  The story, according to some other brothers at UF, is misleading. I can't vouch for that but how many other stories do we discuss that are utter BS? I know something happened but the rush to judgment, threats, and vitriol are what I expect from progressives not reasonable conservatives. The fact no video exists of the incident seems strange since virtually everything is recorded these days. What I don't want to see happen is my son or his brothers getting jumped by asshats who think they are getting even. That is the mob mentality that gave us Ferguson and the black on white hate crimes we saw in the aftermath.

  • I understand your concern, both for your son and the truth. I don't think it's fair that anyone but the culprits are being given a hard time.
    What does concern me is the possibility that this is a true story, and that this may happen again.

    • I read they suspended the frat. That should be enough. It's crazy if everyone's going after all the frats at different universities.

      • Yeah, well, I just received a text from my son. A "veteran's group" just attacked several of his brothers including pouring hot tar on one of them. Fortunately very little of it got on his skin. The police are now guarding the house.

        I don't believe it was really veterans who did this, that is I don't want to believe it. Hot tar? Are these idiots veterans of a medieval war and practiced at defending castle walls for Pete's sake?

        I texted my son and told him to be situationally aware, not to travel alone, not to wear his Greek letters, and do what he has to to defend himself. He's not quite 21 but he knows how to handle himself with multiple forms of deadly force, if you take my meaning. I hope it does not come to that.

        This is mob mentality and I hold the administration and leftist agitators responsible for creating and fostering this new reality. Now the perceived right is acting like the left. That's how civil wars start.

• exactly why was it the draft was terminated? its stupid mindless punks like this that sit on their drunk butts, spending daddy's money and will amount to absolutely nothing in life, except as parasites that feeds off the accomplishments of far better men and women than they can ever hope to be! These are the shinning examples of what the future of our nations beholds, thanks to the liberal, socialist agenda that denies personal responsibility!

• I would love to "expel" them up alongside their head with a two by four, about eight or ten times. No brain no damage, just splinters.
