this has an ebook download on the subject of global economies and the GCC stuff as an huge investment vehicle. i haven't read it yet, but it's a collection of insights to the markets over the years by some investor named Aivars Lode... the chapter titles look interesting.

oh dude, i get email updates from all sorts of greenbiz sales gurus and talking heads... if they keep at this GCC stuff, you can't help develop a bubble. that's just how we always take these "big ideas" in this country!!
the global climate racket - even if all the predictions and damnations are 100% true - is making a mint on the ride. i doubt wall street cares.
the GCC industry sees itself replacing completely the fossil fuel people - though we see oil companies diversifying to green technology also.
the GCC train has left the station. like the dot com boom, the good companies will remain and even thrive, probably. it's interesting to watch, because a lot of stupid decisions are involved. and every goodwill character for the cause wants his/her cut. (and these are the people who claim to hate competition, LOL!)
I am all for green tech, as long as it's more economical than oil, and doesn't kill everyone and everything. But for now, it's not truly viable, and the toxic waste it generates makes the Exxon Valdez spill look like it came from an eyedropper.
yes, that's the ironic part about the treehuggers... their "improvements" or "progress" re the energy industry leaves a lot to be desired. but when we look at it from the "green" angle (as in dollars), it looks more like corporate-raiding, don't it? :)

the fact that this doesn't register with some of them on the left (the avg fist-pumping occupy-citizen) doesn't matter. it registers with enough of them, meaning those who make the money and their supporters. and of course, the GCC is their blueprint and license to do whatever it takes.
i bet if we dig deep enough, we'd find that powerful people on both sides of this argument have hedged their bets, whilst blowing smoke up our arses.

People forget that someone or some people will always have a humongously powerful amount of money and/or resources. We certainly don't want those people to be enemies of our state. People holding larger portions of tangible goods will be fervidly protecting its own nation(s). Since we cannot guarantee constant friendships between nations, the better thing to do is for nations to hold and protect its own wealth.
Just as i would be more interested in sweeping my side of the street if i owned the building on it, but not so much if i didn't.

Anyone heard of The Chicago Climate Exchange? It was set up to become the "NYSE" of carbon credit trading. It went belly up a few years ago but Oblahblah sat on the board of directors of The Joyce Foundation which helped fund it at the beginning.
Nah, exorbitant salaries, politicians with a financial interest in "green" companies and federal research grants have nothing at all to do with this scam. Nothing to see here citizen, move along obediently.
