People don't understand statistics. Hell, I don't understand statistics. But I got enough to note that the average temp means there were lots of temps that were way higher or way lower. That's how an average is obtained. So to get an average temp of say, 80 degrees, you have to have wsome humndredsma s well as some 60's. The weather (climate, whatever) is doing what it does. We are basing our concerns over a mere hundred years or so of measurements. Over a mellenia, I expect the averages would be different, as many more temps would be factored in. The panet gets cold, it gets hot, it gets wet and the oceans rise, and it gets dry and the oceans recede. Get over it.
Proponents such as Algore, et al, either have faith the size of Jupiter or they're grifters as bad as any unscrupulous TV preacher.
But your illustrious "President" said it was warming, and anyway, he was going to fix the climate. Perhaps he has, but overdone it a bit...

Very true. Although I would rephrase #2 – When there is one particularly strong or damaging hurricane, tornado, or strong thundrstorm, it is AGW. When there is no increase in hurricanes, tornadoes, or thunderstorms for 15 years, it’s weather. Or something to that effect.
If ever there was a time that every month was perfectly average in temp, wind, rainfall, clouds, etc., the warmists would be shrieking about how variances are essential to the survival of the planet, and all these unchanging conditions spell doom for the planet if drastic actions are not taken immediately.
The warmists are part of a larger whole who basically consider all others to be abolute idiots who need to be forced to do what is right. So any “apparent” refutation of their current positions are of no consequence. In a year, they can come up with arguments totally opposed to their current ones without batting an eye, make all the requisite press releases, and the media will lap them up like a dog at the pond in a park on a 95 degree day. They will repeat them over and over, and the new positions will become the “irrefutable scientific truth”. Remember, these are the same robots who predicted that we would be in an ice age by now. And other than an occasional website such as this one, no one ever brings up those predictions from 40 years ago, sticks a microphone in their faces, and asks “WTF?”
