UT Austin study says fracking hasn’t contaminated groundwater. Studies? Who cares about your figgin’ studies? Hydraulic fracturing not only contaminates groundwater, it provides non-nutritious school lunches and denies women free contraceptives. The science is settled. Now, pass the cheetos.

Would it be possible to study the effects of "fracking" on liberals? what would happen if we pumped water in their "cracks"...oooohh there is so many places I could go with this..Nevermind
1) I would hardly consider UT the authority on engineering problems. Let me hear what the Aggies say to this crap[. 2) They did NOT say that fracking doesn't cause groundwater contamination. They said the contamination seen with fracking is consistent with the contamination from ALL forms of oil and gas production. Not the same thing at all. And in Texas, we take water VERY seriously. Much of our water is from underground aquifers. If those become contaminated, its curtains for much of Texas. We nearly burnt up last year with the drought and the wildfires. Imagine if our water supplies were cut by 1/3 or 1/2. Sorry, I'd rather be safe than sorry. (I know, I feel the thumbs down already, but I've always said I was a moderate!)
What I can't figure out is why the turds who run things don't dig the lakes deeper while there's no water in them, then when it does rain they'll hold more water.
As I said, most of our water comes from underground springs and aquifers. A large part of Texas has a relatively thin layer of topsoil then solid rock underneath. Makes it very hard to "dig' a lake. Most of our lakes are dam-produced, filling an area from streams and rivers, which are ALSO fed by the springs.
My father who lives near Abilene was not able to plant (1 acre) a garden or water his lawn or water his steers. That fire was a nightmare. I've lived a few years on a ranch and I know that water is the lifeline to survival. I've been around the drilling in TX/OK and it's hard to believe that fracking is destroying the water. But I'm not a scientist either.
I live about 75 miles from Bastrop., where we had the worst fire in the history of the state. Hundreds of homes and businesses were destroyed, camping and vacation areas at Lost Pines park were decimated, and a great many animals, both livestock and pets, perished in the fire. And while that was the worst, we had similar fires all over the state. Tere were 4-5 in my area alone. Not really interested in doing that again.
Not to worry, I sure some tree hugger will come out and tell us that this study was flawed and funded by big oil.
Maybe the Koch brothers funded this thing.
