It seems they are targeting seriously disabled Vets, which not only is disgusting, but it's even more horrific than we thought!
I guess the trick is to not have guns they know about. People in that situation seem to be the only ones unaffected.
This may have something to do with the VA doctors asking everyone about their alcohol drinking habits.
I have been asked that question several times at regular appointments. My answer is always the same, I have one beer with dinner, when I have the money to buy beer.
I don't see a problem with that, especially when I see guys buying a couple of 12 packs before noon at the convenience store where I get my gas.
Oh hell, here in Glorious Kalifornia, the illegals who didn't get picked up for a day job flood the stop and robs and buy cases of beer at 8 AM! Followed by the unemployed, and then the drunks...
Until the democrats get serious push-back on Commie/Nazi tactics like this it will continue. And we've already seen we cannot expect the leadership in the congressional GOP to do any push-back.

Sounds like the VA might be worried that some vets are less than happy with the quality of care they are receiving(or not receiving, depending on which waiting list they are on) and might decide to express their dissatisfaction by shooting a few bureaucrats.
