Vaclev Havel, friend of liberty, RIP. Vaclav Havel, the writer and dissident whose eloquent dissections of Communist rule helped to destroy it in revolutions that brought down the Berlin Wall and swept Havel himself into power, died on Sunday. He was 75. “Truth and love must prevail over lies and hate.”

Lech Walesa said Havel should have been given the Nobel Peace Prize. I don't know, the Nobel Peace Prize has fallen in stature for some reason since 2009. Despite his imprisonments and surveillance by Big Brother, I'm told the Nobel Peace Prize committee wouldn't give the Prize to Havel because they were disgusted with his frequent expensive junkets to Hawaii on the dime of his people.
On the bright side, Kim Jong-il assumed room temp in North Korea & is at this moment somewhere south of heaven.
