Vancouver Schools’ new LGBTTQ+ policy includes gender-free pronouns “xe”, “xem” and “xyr.” Xe think xeir idea is sanity-free. What say xyrou?

Bonfire of the Absurdities: After 35 year career writing software for IBM mainframes, am now self-employed contractor thinking of joining a union and striking for higher wages. Cured morbid fear of heights when I learned to look at them as lengths standing on end. Uncompromising in refusal to accept browser cookies. Amateur investor who has accumulated a small fortune in the market after starting out years ago with a large one. For recreation, I run, hike, kayak and play tennis but will not consider synchronized swimming under any circumstances.

  • Shit like this was running rampant during the first French revolution. Stupid progressive bastards were adding hours to the day, new days to the week and months to the year. They were adding gender neutral or gender exclusive vocabulary to the French language and arresting anybody who didn't want to join their new (progressive) citizen's party. Sound familiar? This happened in the 1790's! I guess even when it's bad; "What goes around, comes around...eventually.

  • It's gone from the sun that dare not speaks its name to the lifestyle that won't shut the xuck up.

  • OK, so... wrecking the language.

It still rings in my ears: all my gay-friendly liberal and libertarian friends sneeringly asking me, "How does it affect YOOOOOOUUUUUU?"

Well, it turns out I keep finding out how it's affecting me on just about a daily basis now.

  • I think about half the world needs to be put in a straitjacket and committed to a giant rubber room for about 50 years.

  • Enough with going after Native American nicknames, can we please, please have the letters "x" and "i" back? People just throw them around so capriciously. Tack an 'i' on the front of the word and launch a product. Throw an 'x' in to make it seem like you are 'edgy'.

Meanwhile, lowly letter "L" (two 'L's in lowly by the way) can't catch a break. It's been waiting for its big day in the sun for the fiftieth Superbowl and it gets nixed for the number "50". Lowly loser letter labors literately like a lame lackey.

    Lefties.

    • That's OK (with apologies to our good friend Kimmy): a lot of those players have "L" names too: LaShonde, LaTrayvon, LaTraviata, LaTrelle, LeBron . . .

  • What a bunch of ze shite..They will be zorry and zem will be confused....Canadians..can't live with zem, and can't bomb zem either...yet....

  • And what kind of gibberish is this? Unless someone removes all reproductive organs, you are either one sex or the other.

    • Actually, they think that its not that simple. From people that try to define the word "is" to redefining marriage as two (or more-why not) people- what would expect? Clear cut rules and directives?
