Venezuelan state considers system to limit food purchases

Venezuelan state considers system to limit food purchases. “The state of Zulia in western Venezuela said it will launch a pilot program next week that uses a digital system to block shoppers from buying the same staple products at different stores on the same day.” Typical socialist idiocy – instead of getting the hell out of the way and letting private enterprise produce more, the control freaks decide to micro-manage everyone’s lives even more. Centuries of failure prove nothing!

Bonfire of the Absurdities: After 35 year career writing software for IBM mainframes, am now self-employed contractor thinking of joining a union and striking for higher wages. Cured morbid fear of heights when I learned to look at them as lengths standing on end. Uncompromising in refusal to accept browser cookies. Amateur investor who has accumulated a small fortune in the market after starting out years ago with a large one. For recreation, I run, hike, kayak and play tennis but will not consider synchronized swimming under any circumstances.

  • Oh, so now they have food rationing? Given past history on what happens when the population goes hungry, something tells me this isn't going to end well.

  • It won't surprise me if Mayor Nannyberg winds up down there when his term expires.

    • SPOT ON!

Food is also used as a weapon under socialism/communism/fascism/progressivism (which are all the same color just slightly different tints).

  • The South American Version of North Korea......with their own little dear leader.. But at least this will cutdown on the need for toilet paper which they ran out of anyway.

  • Sadly, there are 20-25 very intelligent, nay brilliant, people in the west wing thinking this just might work here. One of them is the economic illiterate, 0bama.

  • Running out of other people's money, bread, milk.... That is the problem that socialism hasn't solved yet and never will.

  • Well, this makes sense! 'Cause, y'know, it's those "preppers" you gotta worry about. When things collapse, you don't want people out there who can take care of themselves! You want them to line up for government-provided meals.
