Well, I would be happy to see Clint in the VP position. He has done too many pro-gun movies for me to think he is anti-gun---and, he is an American. Arnie isn't. Don't give a shit what the papers say.
Picking a running mate has always been a crap shoot. At the risk of drawing Olivia out of her hole, I'd say the best VP we've had in a long time was Dick Cheney. The notion that VP Cheney was "evil" is purely a media myth. Hard nosed, yes. Evil, not a chance.

As much as I'd love to see Dirty Harry in that posititon doing that (though I'd just a well some anonymous Navy Seal or CIA agent took him out with a high powered rifle from 10,000 feet), we have to remember that Dirty Harry is a fictional character. Clint Eastwood would be the VP, not Harry. And before supporting that, I would like some certainty that he is not a "republican" in the same sense that Aaahnold is also a "republican". Sorry, I don't trust California, and especially Hollywood, very much
It's not a good sign when the politicians, and especially republican politicians, choose or even consider running mates on the basis of their celebrity status (Eastwood) or potential (Quayle, Palin). And that is not meant as a rip on Quayle or Palin. But the basis on which they were chosen is just wrong. Seriously, being mayor of Carmel makes you qualified to be a heartbeat away from being the most powerful leader in the world?
It makes me appreciated Bush 43 more - he chose a truly qualified person, without grandiose ambitions. And should he have become president for whatever reason, I would have been totally comfortable with that (and no, I don't own Halliburton stock).
