• I had an A10 scare the begeebers out of me once. The wife and I were out on a hike about two days after Capt. Button disappeared with his A-10 in 97'.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Craig_D._Button .

  We were hiking a creek that cascades up and down down some pretty rugged terrain in the Texas hill country. All of a sudden we heard jet engines, silence, jet engines and silence. Then I was face to face with an A-10! This guy was 100 feet off the deck, popping up down over and into the ravines we were hiking up. The hair went up on the back of my neck as I was staring into that gun, looking directly at the pilot, while the big news of the day went through my mind. "Pilot disappears with A-10, motive and location unknown." Here's an A-10 flying tree top level in a Texas State Park ( off limits for tree top level flight ), one is missing and I'm about to die. Soon as he saw us he banked hard and was gone like like it never happened. Leaving the wife and I scratching our heads asking did that really happen? One blip from that gun and we would have been scraps for the buzzards!

  I can fully understand the psychological effect of having those things hunting in your third world shithole of a country.
