It seems he had some mental health issues according to his family and he was medicated as a youth. Do not know if that continued into his adulthood.This is why there need to be mental health reform. Prevent people who have been on medication like these from getting weapons, and hospitalize people against their will when the cops/mental health doctors have been called to calm someone the hell down/when they have committed a crime like cracking the skull of his step son and beating one of his wives. Jail time and then DIRECTLY to a mental health facility. Stay there until the person is cured...if not cured then keep them there until something more permanent can be done like very heavily supervised stay in a home of some kind.
Mr. Trump has his finger on the pulse of the world or something, because he called this hours before we found out that he was taking meds if I am not mistaken. Maybe he is wondering if we need Mental Health reform as well.
Everyone is afraid to bring back insane asylums. Seems they were effective at keeping a lot of crazy off the streets. Granted the system was abused and lots of folks were incarcerated that probably shouldn't have been. I like to think the mental health profession is more qualified today and those mistakes won't be repeated.
I am aware of the past and I got to say... HORRIBLE and yes even movies like "Sucker Punch" DOES speak of the public's abuse as well as the so called health professional abuse of the system by putting people in mental institutions just because the person was inconvenient... like a very strange abortion practice. Horrible... Wynona Ryder and Angelina Jolie did a movie as well and these movies do show the dark side of this situation and again I understand all of that.
However IF you know the practices AND you know the abuses... why can't that HELP in making the government (local and federal) aware of what kind of people need to be vetted to work in these places, there has to be professional, vetted and responsible people that travel around the state and do unscheduled visitations and make sure that things are on the up and up several times a year... the guidelines need to be stringent and provable to commit someone against their will, what to look for in public abuse, why not obey G-D? Get three witnesses (from the community not just family) and properly interview the people directly involved to find out as much as possible the truth?
Now yes there are still possibility for abuse, but I guarantee you a lot of this mass murder evil... will be very infrequent...
Other things too like education reform is needed.
In addition as I posted in another thread, the media has a lot of fault and they need to be reformed as well.

"Heavily medicated" might be a euphemism for lots of recreational drug use.
Be interesting to know what meds all the recent mass shooters were on.
Also interesting to know how we aren't getting this information too. Big pharma keeping it hidden, but which company and is there one specific drug that cross matches with these shooters.
