The Washington State dictator does not worry about legal president or with wasting money on an election. His government is not one requiring any participation by the electorate.

The Death Penalty has come and gone a couple of times in my lifetime. It's something I'm in favor of - usually as a bargaining chip; like it was in the Green River Killer case.
I have no problem with it, and I could hit the switch and still go to sleep at night. But it's not something I fight tooth and nail for.
That's exactly the point they make, yes, absolutely, governors do indeed have the authority to halt executions and even grant full pardons. He has essentially extended a blanket reprieve to all Death Row cases. No pardons, and by the sound of it, no permanent commutations of sentence to life terms, just an indefinite halt.
At least he wasn't a total whipped wuss like Dickhead Celeste here in Ohio years ago who commuted all Capital cases to life days before he left office because his wifey Dagmar insisted. I guess the good news is it chilled his "career" and all thoughts of higher office were gone forever.
So, this guy's saying whenever a warrant crosses his desk he'll issue a reprieve. Just wondering, doesn't that open them up to all kinds of cruel and unusual suits after he leaves office? Even those out of appeals will have new grounds.
Hmmm... I wonder what he's about to get arrested for that he needs to suspend executions?
