• This story totally misrepresents the facts. The security barriers that they show are the boundary for the Owner Controlled Area(OCA). The Protected Area(PA) is inside and is clear on the other side of the High Voltage Switchyard. The main purpose of the boundaries you saw are to provide additional security during Refueling outages when there are several thousand extra people onsite. Why did they not know that? Because they didn't bother to ASK. Exelon (the owner of the plant) was never asked about this before the story was broken to possibly get the other side of the story. I would have expected better than this from Tucker Carlson and the Daily Caller.
  As far as being 600 feet from the reactor, WHOOP-DI-DOO. You're 600 feet from an incredibly tough, hardened structure that was designed to withstand a direct hit from an airliner. That is not the Alfred P. Murrah building you're looking at.

    • Even before there was the terrorism threat, there were massive demonstrations against nuclear power. It has proven to be much safer than the alarmists would have you believe, but the leftist chicken littles don't want you to know that.
      The real deal is that if new power plants were built, there wouldn't be the chance to make your energy costs "necessarily skyrocket".
