We ARE the 91%: only 9% of Americans cooperate with pollsters. People don’t answer their phones, and if they do answer they often hang up and refuse to cooperate with pollsters, and many of the few that do cooperate lie to them. It comes down to only 9% of sampled households actually respond vs. 36% fifteen years ago. But yeah, these polls are guaranteed accurate. We’ll see. UPDATE: Link to article fixed. Bonfire of the Absurdities: After 35 year career writing software for IBM mainframes, am now self-employed contractor thinking of joining a union and striking for higher wages. I love the pollsters calls...I have lied on every single one that has called me so far in 2012. In fact, I have lied nearly enough to have actually confused myself as to who I am really voting for...ok, so that too was a lie. ;-)

I don't get polled any more. I think the pollsters know that I'm going to give them a very hard time when they ask me their insipid and stupid questions and I never give them the answers they want anyway. Yeah, they've learned through trial and error that I'm not their guy...ever.

so we just make up the numbers from those who hung up or checked their caller id and saw a number that was ether blocked or that was not recognized. That is how we can up with the numbers we are pimping.

Count me in the 91%. I've been polled. The pollsters are effing idiots with stupid questions to get the result they want, so for many years now I instantly hang up.
