• I love watching the Pawn Shop show from Detroit. I get a laugh at all the locals coming in there, demanding that their price be met. The only word that fits their mentality is entitlement. "No, I needs fie hunnid dollas, and you gonna gib it to me. Now!"

• The difference is that Havana is misruled by communists while Detroit is misruled by Democrats....wait, there is no difference. Fifty years of one party rule equals urban ruination and decay.

  Here's the difference: In Havana the communists shot or exiled the middle class and the business people. In Detroit the Democrats drove out the middle class and business people with crime, riots, high taxes and declining public services.

  • I remember as kid in 1985, visiting my sister who lived in the Detroit area for a couple of years, & wow. That was bad. I remember the area around the old Tiger Stadium & all of the building with barbwire fencing on top of large chainlink fences everywhere down there. What a hole.

• I have a rich, liberal neighbor who just returned from a trip to Cuba. A freekin' vacation in Cuba! WTF? Of course it's the kool thing to do, these days. You haven't lived until you've vacationed in a communist country, where people are tortured and killed for not towing the communist line. Of course, you won't see anything but the best they have to offer, and you will only see the nicest people. So, my liberal neighbor, having gone on "vacation" thinks she knows it all about Cuba now and no doubt thinks that the US is a big meanie for imposing sanctions against Cuba all these years. It's sad that Cubans have suffered so much for so many years. It's not the US's fault! All the blame rests with the Castro regime. Detroit, on the other hand? The Dems get all the credit there.
