Why the USDA is putting a new warning label on beef, starting this week. Blade tenderized should be a real thrill. Keep your Imodium A-D handy.

Speaking of getting sick from abusing your meat, I was amused by THIS headline on the same page: "Gay men's choir performance drowned out at Padres game"
If this story is herd there might be a stampede on personal injury attorney offices.
Have you noticed the huge number of attorney advertisements for medical items, and drugs. They are suing anyone and everyone and you have to wonder why the hell anyone would want to make any new products giving these low life ambulance chasers advertising on TV. I like the old days, when lawyers could not advertise on TV....Lawyers should be neither seen nor heard.
You do have to admit though, there are plenty of drugs out there with some serious side effects. Some people may have had real bad reactions.
Yes. Especially after those bills/laws that were supposed to end frivolous lawsuits.
Aw hell, and I like my steak so rare a good vet can bring it back to life.
Me too, in fact, when I get Prime Rib at a restaurant, it's barely warm on the edges, and the middle is still cold.
Buy prime meats and you don't have to worry about it.
Why the hell would they do this? Everyone with a lick of common sense knows the reason you can eat a sirloin steak rare is because the bacteria is all on the outside. That's the reason you don't eat ground beef rare, you gotta cook it. And besides that, you can get the same result by simply pounding the meat with a meat tenderizer, which doesn't penetrate and spread the germs. I swear, people get dumber every year. You would think people in the business of selling meat would know this shit.
But this story does bring back some childhood memories, of Mom pounding the hell out of some cheap cut of meat she bought on sale. I used to pick up that meat tenderizer and think to myself, "Man, with this and a good horse I could conquer France."
Although it mentioned Costco as a culprit, which I assume sells retail for the household consumer, I would think that this is something mainly restaurants would use -- note the story mentions Applebee's. In which case of course -- the actual consumer of the steak (in both senses) STILL has no idea what he's getting.
