Wind farm noise does harm sleep and health, say scientists

Wind farm noise does harm sleep and health, say scientists. “The findings provide the clearest evidence yet to support long-standing complaints from people living near turbines that the sound from their rotating blades disrupts sleep patterns and causes stress-related conditions.” Maybe that’s why one-percenters like the late Ted Kennedy don’t want wind farms near their own personal digs, eh?

  • This whole wind thing is just a big scam. We had them all over the Tehachapi mountain range. Nobody lived near these things, they were not hooked up to electrical grid, and didn't produce even a smidgen of power that anybody could get access to. During the Gray Davis grey-outs, the greenies talked like magpies about how great these f***ing things were and how much power they'd produce if they were just hooked into the grid. State assembly made PG&E pay millions to wire them in and I still don't know if that's been done, but I do know that our electric bill started going up and up and up, almost immediately afterward. These f***ers are about nothing but scamming money from the populace and blaming it of evil corporations and republicans. In the mean time, the people who have to live around these infernal machines continue to have sleep and mental problems and the wind farm corporations make a fortune off the backs of taxpayers and pay a pittance to the people who're stupid enough to buy into their sales pitch. These preditory corporations look specifically for little communities that are on the brink of bankruptcy and send in aggressive high sales lawyers to pick at their bones, turning neighbor against neighbor in these little rural communities.

    • my cousin, Belinda, married a good man.
      Charles taught me this:
      It's awful hard Tehachapi.

      i sh*t u not. :)

    • Someone recently wrote an interesting article about how know-it-all leftards like Obama "think" (if I may use that word.) Basically, they have no idea how anything really works. They just believe themselves to be "smart" and "good people" and so their solutions will work. Economy failing? Pass a stimulus. Spend 800 billion. But they pay no attention to where the money went or what it's used for... it's like the Staples "Easy" button. Press the button, problem solved, on to the next. Except the problem isn't solved because no one has any idea on how to get from here to there beyond the initial concept of "hey, let's spend 800 billion!" But they're SURPRISED when it doesn't work? How come? We're smart! We're good! Ergo, the Koch Brothers must've sabotaged us or something.

Wind power is a perfect example of this phenomena. They put up the stupid windmills.... problem solved! No more pollution, no more importing oil, no more fracking.... on to the next! Except for the fact that unlike politicians, the wind doesn't always blow, what little power is generated is often a looooong way from where it is needed, etc, etc. None of the greenies think of those things because they basically don't know what the hell they're doing, except that they're smarter and gooder than everybody else so their ideas are right.

I once saw this quote about the oil business and I know from my own profession (computer software) that it is absolutely true: "When it comes to solving a problem, one’s intelligence is proportional to the square of their physical distance from the problem."

    • Oh, and here's the kicker, most of these corporations are wholly owned by foreign countries so that most of the money made doesn't stay in the US...Thank people like Warren and Pelosi and Reid for this kinda shit!

        • this just in, RobertW. confirms that many blood sucking creatures continue to eek out a parasitical lifestyle whilst enjoying the freedom that many have given their lives to protect, defend, and uphold, as part of theirs and ma raison de vivre. One wonders what these parasites might bring to civilization.

this individual is of the political love of thought that leads him, (me) to believe, (further) that the libs are dogs and ought so to be treated. :D
