Hey, I thought you said these were gonna be SURPRISING facts... sadly, none of this stuff is any surprise to me.
I think the surprised ones are the people, not paying attention, who will hopefully stumble across this. Of course WE aren't surprised. We're the ones paying attention. It's hitting my FB in a couple minutes.
Can someone name just ONE program the Gooberment runs that is not filled with waste and fraud? If we actually went after waste and fraud, I bet we could save a trillion dollars or more, especially if we get rid of a bunch of bureaucrats with their bloated salaries and pensions.
How much could we save if we eliminated departments? Stopped waste in "Low bid" contracts? Let me give you an example.
I worked for the Kalifornia highway patrol. I was in charge of a small unit for a time, and we HAD to buy with low bid contracts. Those contracts cost 50 to 200 percent more than If I took my state issued credit card and went to a store to buy the same thing! I put together a power point, took it to the state bean counters, presented the evidence and they said???? not a damn thing. Just thanked me for (wasting) their time. Corruption and ass slapping is all over the place. That's why we get 500 dollar hammers and 5000 dollar toilet seats. We need someone to oversee the people who spend our money. They have that here in Kalifornia. When I went to the non partisan budget annalist he told me I was basically pissing in the wind, and cautioned me that if I did not spend all the money given to our unit, I would get less, not more the next budget year. If anyone wonders why I hate the majority of politicians and bureaucrats, that's just one example. Without stopping fraud in programs like this piece of shit, we are all gonna end up paying the bill because the politicians all like to spend money, but I have yet to see one save any. And with guys like Obama, Reid, Pelosi et al, we are just gonna get deeper in debt because they don't know the first damn thing about stopping fraud and waste. They are the fraud and waste royalty. Million dollar vacations, private jets, thousands spent on Alcohol and donuts...These assholes have no understanding of what it means to work, pay bills and stay within a budget, they would rather bankrupt the country by buying votes. And giving out free shit!

I have to admit, most of my good feelings toward Frmr. Pres. Bush stem from his being a Texan and he and Mrs. L. Bush sent my daughter a welcome to the world card when she was born. :)
Actually, if they count land lnes, the first was under Reagan. And those phones weren't free, just reduced monthly cost.
Rose, that's very true. Unfortunately, the dems rely on voters who're too young, maybe even weren't even born yet, to remember Reagan, let alone land-line telephones.
