Heck of a job, Kenny: Only 16% view Interior Secretary Salazar favorably

Hard to believe that there’s a member of President Obama’s administration who’s less popular than Director of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano, but there is: Secretary of the Interior Ken “Oil Moratorium” Salazar.

And thumbs up to you, too, for a job well done, Kenny

Rasmussen has the unpopular particulars:

With gas prices soaring, the pressure’s on the Obama administration to increase the number of permits for deepwater oil drilling. Right now, just 16% of Likely U.S. Voters have a favorable opinion of the man who’ll grant those permits, Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar, with a scant one percent (1%) who regard him Very Favorably.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 27% view the former Colorado senator unfavorably, including 11% with a Very Unfavorable view of him. But like many of his fellow Cabinet members, Salazar is an unknown commodity to many voters: 57% don’t know enough about him to venture any kind of opinion.

The most surprising number in this survey is the fact that 1% of likely voters regards Salazar Very Favorably. We can only guess that the 1% is comprised of former Village People fans who appreciate the jaunty tilt of Salazar’s cowboy hat and/or Dr. Strangelove fans who are reminded of Slim Pickens playing Major T. J. “King” Kong.

One thing we know for sure is that the 1% can’t possibly be approve of  his performance as Secretary of the Interior.

  • How can the SSoI be at 16% and the man that sets the policies be at 44% without a media bent like a pretzel for Obama? THe same can be said of every single policy of the Obama Regime yet still at 44%. Sure those +8-12 donk sampling percentages has something to do with it. So I can only conclude it is his skin color or rather America's reaction to his skin color.

  • None of the numbers surprise me, except for the 57% who don't know who he is. I would expect that number to be higher, considering the ignorance of American populace. And the feds would LOVE to see that number go higher.
