We felt it here in the South Bend, IN area. Driving along when the car started vibrating funny while going up hill. At first I thought it was just an older car struggling with the hill but when I heard about this and the time, it was easy to put 2+2 together.
Second one I've felt around here. The first was around 9, 10 years ago early one morning when I went outside for a smoke. The birds were chirping like normal, then they all freaked out. A couple of minutes later, I felt the ground moving and said "WTF"? It turned out to be a quake down in the New Madrid Fault Zone that was felt all the way up here.
Fun fact: A minor earthquake by California standards can be more extreme east of the Mississippi because of the difference in geology. Do a search for New Madrid earthquake, I believe 1811 or 1812. Freaky stuff that altered the course of the Mississippi and at one point caused it to run backwards.

Never forget the day we felt the Yankee earthquake in Boston. Just a little shudder of the building -- only the 3rd floor -- felt like when the subways go right underneath but without the noise.

I'll be a son of a bitch. I felt that, thought, "That felt like an earthquake," and went outside to look for a passing earthmover or something. Who knew? As a former resident of Reno, where my house was at the epicenter of a good size quake once, I should have known.
when I hear about earthquakes I almost ALWAYS anymore think of Romans 8:22, but the COOOLest part of that thought, for me anyways, is:
