60 Minutes – Cop tackled ‘Black Hat’ I’m watching 60 Minutes right now. I just heard the Boston Police Commissioner Edward Davis say one officer actually ran out and tackled Terrorist Number 1 / Black Hat / Tamerlan Tsarnaev when he ran out of ammunition during the firefight on Thursday night. He didn’t give the name of this hero, but he’s the front-runner for the IHTM Balls of Steel Award for 2013.

Good for him and if he missed the truck good for him too. The brother is a freak, perhaps thought he could escape and ran over the brother to prevent him from saying something? But then why not just kill himself? Weird.
Not to be too graphic, but I've seen a couple of "reports" that say he tried to eat his gun at the end but the instead of blowing his brains out the bullet went through his throat and neck. Why he can't talk.
I have heard the injury reported repeatedly as the "possible" result of a suicide attempt. Given that he was in a firefight, I think it is just as possible that he was injured there, and ran over his brother unintentionally after the brother was killed. If he was bleeding profusely from the neck, as well as filled with adrenaline trying to escape, it is unlikely he was aware of the details of what was happening. His brother got out of the car. He may have told Bomber #2 to get out and he would distract the cops, since he was wired to explode.
Has my vote got a set as big as church bells.
I was watching 60 minutes too and I agree, the man deserves a Balls of the Year Award. You naysayers need to remember that everything we have been hearing on the networks is bullshit put out there by reporters who want to be first to "get the story." In another week or so we will start hearing what really happened when the terrorists were caught.
The only problem with that is that, when you hear something from CBS News, you have to ask yourself, "What if that is true?".
Just sayin'.
Not that it's impossible or anything but it seems to fit awkwardly at best to the line that he dies of multiple gunshot wounds if he was in fact tackled by one of the police. I was listening to the radio as the local CBS station aired a live feed from WBZ in Boston when the events were being reported live and the police were described as approaching with great caution the suspect as he lay motionless after the shootout- fearing that he may have booby trapped himself with explosives. Being tackled by an officer doesn't really fit with that.

2. I guess I should have mentioned that right after that the younger brother ran over his older brother. I assume the cop got out of the way.
The report that white hat ran over his brother - black hat - has been read by me at one or two other places mentioning that black hat was HANDCUFFED on the ground at the time! That detail seemed highly improbable since there had been no mention of any application of said cuffs by any LEO, or that there had been any up close and personal contact by the law and black hat, other than the shootout and so on. The details of all the recent violent actions, each one of which quickly seems to get suspicious to the conspiracy theorists and I can see why, seem to have problems with congruity.
LE (forget who) I saw a couple hours ago, not 60 Min., paraphrasing, cop tackled him, couple more pounced and got him cuffed, those two went back to the fire fight, 1st cop stayed on top of him to keep him down, looked up and saw headlights coming, he boogied & black hat didn't and got squashed and dragged down the street.
