What the hell is wrong with the American people? The first half of this survey makes complete sense, but the second half makes no sense in light of the first half.
TheHill.com reports the results that boggle our minds:
Rising energy prices are prompting support among likely voters for expanding U.S. drilling and releasing oil from the country’s emergency stockpiles, a new poll conducted for The Hill shows.
By a 66-25 percent margin, likely voters say President Obama should encourage more oil and gas exploration offshore, and by a 50-35 percent margin they favor releasing oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to moderate gas price increases.
The same survey shows that stepped-up GOP allegations that White House energy policies are raising prices have failed to give Republicans a political edge on the issue.
Slightly more than half the respondents — 52 percent — said neither party should be blamed for high gas prices. Twenty-two percent of those polled blame Republicans, while 19 percent blame Democrats.
So you have a President and a political party who’ve slapped a moratorium on drilling in the Gulf and in Alaska and who have made drilling on most government land damn near impossible while you have another party that supports drilling in all of those locations.
Yet likely voters blame Republicans for high gas prices more than they blame Democrats?
We’re not doing our job well enough.

If you had a Republican leadership that wasn't just a bunch of stealth marxist-socialists there would be a striking difference between the Dems and the Repubix, however, Beohner et al., are weak, tepid, crybabies more interested in observing parliamentary etiquette than in getting something substantial done. They need to go, we won't survive another political rotation if we don't vote these dickheads out on their asses. We can't afford anymore RINO's. We need more, not fewer, constitutional conservatives willing to roll their sleeves up and kick some Demican ass! This current load of Republican crap has lost every staredown, failed to capitalize on any advantage, dropped the ball on any initiative they've had since they promised that they'd cut at least $100 billion out of the Federal spending budget...Hell they can't even seem to cut a measaly $5 billion out of the current spending budget and how much money did they give Democrats to increase the Debt ceiling? These fools are a bunch of quislings and we're being duped, yet again! I'm at the point where I say let's just shoot all the Democrats and all of the RINO's any get on with business!
However our "salvation" so to speak will not be with the Republicans. All in all it is up to us to make sure we do indeed surround them instead of the other way around. What happens is that thee is so much coming our ways that it is difficult to determine what should have the most of our attention in order to work out the problems.
Of course they blame republicans. That damn bush just can't do anything right. I'll be glad when he's out of the white house.
What a bundle of morons. Who the hell did they poll? I know, I have participated a few times. It's so revealing when, after only 2 or 3 very generic but possibly, ever so slightly a possibility, they take a no go red flag on your response figuring your likely to not answer all the questions to their liking. This way, you aren't included in the poll data. Anyway you want to look at it, data are there to be skewed. Statistics always favor the author's results.
You just now getting it? All "polls" are skewed to reflect what the person, political party, whoever is paying the bill, wants the "poll" to show so they can push their own agenda.
When I see a poll of 5 million, legal, American voters, not potential voters but real voters, I might pay attention to what the poll says. Until then? Why waste time on nonsense that means nothing in the long run anyway.
You children here are not old enough to remember that the ban on drilling for oil withing our continental borders started with Jimmy Carter.
Lyndon Johnson pushed to extend our territorial limits to 200 miles from our coastline because we knew there was an abundance of oil under those waters. It took Richard Nixon, then Gerald Ford to get the law passed. Do any of you really think the North Slope oilfields and the Alaskan Pipeline would have been built if Jimmy "The Peanut Farmer" Carter had been President at the time? Not on your life.
Where Nixon screwed up is he approved the birth of the E.P.A. and things have been going downhill in this country since. Before the eco-freaks had a say in national policy we were importing about 25% of our petroleum, 75% came from our own resourses. Because of gooberment policies the last 35 years the tables have turned. We now import about 75% of our oil from the middle east and the rulers of the Arabic countries think they have us by the short hairs. And, if we keep getting the same clowns elected to public office, they will continue pulling on those hairs.
All it would take is one anouncement from the Obummer that we are going to drill in ANWR, tap into the Bakken field in North Dakota, open both coasts and the Gulf of Mexico to drilling, and we would see the price of oil drop within 3 months, if not sooner. The problem we have is 52% of the people voted for a symbol instead of a man, or woman, who wanted to do what is right for America and its citizens. Ya'll wanted him, you got him. And now all of us are feeling the pain of your stupid decision. Including YOU.
It is due to ignorance. People are not watching/reading AND understanding the news. It is as simple and as sad as that.

The reason the second half is totally out of sync with the first half is that people aren't paying attention to the moratorium or the fact that the administration has been held in con temp for not following the orders of the judge.
Is there a single issue that Obama is not against the American public by a minimum of 60/40 and more often 70/30?
Communist democrats are only 20% of the population but appear more because they have total control of the media.
The reason for the blaming is simple the spineless republicans will not beat the president and dems about the head for their ban on drillng. They need to point out that the price of gas has nearly doubled under barry and the 4 years of a dem controlled congress. Get a set people and fight your enemy on their level. Screw being nice or civil, tell it like is and let the chips fall.
As for the ban on drilling by barry and cronies. It's time to drill baby drill and then build baby build. This administration needs to be in front of the judge that has ruled the ban was unlawful and explain their contempt of court to the judge.
