My 30-06 makes a bigger hole going in and out than a .223.....So does my .45...therefore your argument is invalid.

Not So,.....got a question, and would like to draw on your considerable experience. I live full time in an RV, moving back and forth from an RV Park in Bakersfield to one in Auburn. My lady has a 9mm Sig, I have a dressed up, folding stock, laser equipped Mini-14. If we want another weapon for home defense, what do you think of a shotgun?
Edit,...almost forgot, we also have an old, tubular magazine .22, again with folding stock, scope, and laser.
Tactical pump shotgun. Stevens (Savage) makes a nice one for about $200. It has a shoulder stock, pistol grip, 18-1/2" barrel, and holds 7 rounds out of the box. Load it so it will fire in the following order.
Rock salt, #7 shot, #7 shot, #4 shot, #4 shot, rifled slug, rifled slug.
If they don't get the hint by then, they are just too dumb to let live, so Mini-14 then.
Shotgun, and you can load your own rounds with silly putty.

I would imagine it would act as a fragmenting round, enter and explode, but if you hit a wall the round would not penetrate beyond the first layer, minimizing collateral damage.
Just a educated guess, as I haven't tried it (yet), but if anyone does, let me know how it works out.....PLEASE!
That would have the advantage of being able to use buckshot sized rounds, without fear of taking out an innocent life.....or so I would think. Powder load might have some bearing on it also.
Someone more versed in reloading will have to pitch in at this point.....

CO is right on the money..You want something that doesn't go to far in case your between Motor homes but will inflict some damage to the intended target, Short barrel 870 works well for us. Plus the pattern is good for close combat and the sound it makes when you pump a round into the chamber makes most bad people become religious very quickly.
I'd go with a pump shotgun and birdshot. Don't want a slug or 00 Buckshot going through 3 trailers before it stops.
With the reporting this way, when the case gets thrown out the MSM can then so another report about how the NRA got a law passed that makes people buy military guns and protect the death manufacturers. And of course we need to change the law. All in time for 2016 so that the RINO we pick as a presidential candidate will have to ask if they are for putting military guns on the street or allowing families to sue the people who are turning our streets into war zones.
And they will blame Bush even though the Democratic Congress passed the bill.

This weapon uses .22 caliber bullets, EVERY other gun (except a .17 cal) uses a more powerful bullet!

It shouldn't get that far. No matter how tragic the incident,t by e lawsuits are frivolous. You may want to blame someone,but itsnot the gun or the manufacturer who were at fault.
What one has to understand that in the Age of Obama there is no factual reporting, NONE. It is all narrative and it works for over half the people. This is the result of 40 years of the NEA and 60s communists infiltrating our K-12 school system.

Well, no, the suit has nothing to do with 2ndAm rights, as such, it is theoretically strictly a products liability case. However, the 2005 law cited simply backs up a very long-standing principle of law that manufacturers cannot be held liable for criminal acts committed with their products: a principle that was long applied to firearms, baseball bats, or hidden cameras.
The legal principle involved is that product liability is bounded by foreseeability: the kind of example given in law school is that if a wheel breaks loose from a car, goes bounding over to the sidewalk and injures someone, that is a foreseeable accident and the victim has a good case. If it goes bounding into an open sewer, fetches up against someone's drain and causes the toilet to back up, ruining the bathroom tiles, that is so distant as to be NOT foreseeable and the victim is SOL.
Criminal acts, in this context, have ALWAYS been held to be legally unforeseeable, thus insulating a manufacturer from any such product liability. I'm not even sure why that 2005 law was needed, except maybe to emphasize that principle, or to overturn a law from a lower jurisdiction that statutorily tried to eliminate that insulation.
/Here endeth the lesson.
My bet is that they will argue that a mentally defective Democrat with an AR-15 is a foreseeable circumstance, since there have been so many of them lately. However, their argument that an AR-15, is only a military weapon, with no other use, is just stupid.

I have one of each....Glad I am not a democrat......Time to ban democrats from owning guns period. They have a mental defect that causes theme to be unsuitable for gun ownership, and for voting, holding public office, driving, being a reporter, teacher and just generally holding any job at all. In fact if we did it right, demotards would be "camps" for their own safety...
Thanks be to God. I understand the devastation these parents must be feeling, their grief and anger at losing a child at school no less. But this soundslike some ambulance chasing excuse of an attorney has beat the drumthat a huge monetary influx will somehow make up for their loss. You don't automatically deserve money because of tragedies in our life. Do something positive in your child's memory and get on with your life!
