87 Killed After Crane Collapses at Grand Mosque in Mecca. Seems kind of fitting since 15 of the 18 9/11 hijackers were from Saudi Arabia.

      Now I would pray that the family and friends of the victims to find Jesus and perhaps that this accident helps them along in that. I find it too late to pray for the victims. I pray for the souls of my dead family members and that includes my family in Christ (especially the Martyrs), but I don't pray for the souls of others who have died. That does not make me a failure as a Christian. I just find that for them it is too late for me to pray for, but indeed I could pray for the family and friends to find Christ through their grief that came with this accident. I am however not a failure as a Christian, just because I won't double over, drop and roll on the ground crying, throwing dirt and ashes on my head over the death of these people. After all it was an accident, they were on a demonic location doing whatever, worshiping an idol. I would much rather grief for Christian martyrs whose crime was to exist, minding their own business and someone took their lives because of their sincere beliefs.

      As a true Christian I know that I am not perfect and that is why I need Christ... quite desperately at that. I do pray for the Lost, but I am not going to be grieving over their deaths and again I am not losing my Christian stripes because of that.

    • Praying for them does not preclude recognizing the sin and dysfunction of the silly, demonic death-cult to which they belong. Atheists and humanists are always trying to throw Christianity in someone's face, but their misunderstanding of basic Christian beliefs is so profound, it inevitably makes them look silly. What will you come up with next, "Judge not lest ye be judged?" Guffaw. That doesn't mean you can't use your judgment, or point out sinful behavior, or even punish sinful behavior. It has never meant what liberals want it to mean. For them it's a license, rather than a warning.

      If you truly love your fellow man, you do not want them engaged in the silly death-cult of Islam. So if you love them, you tell them they are wrong and you tell them about the wonderful alternative. Of course, that doesn't work with liberals. For liberals, every clash of ideas is hateful... which, when you think about it, explains why they end up so devoid of ideas.

          I'm not your sweety and no, that is so far wrong it proves my point about liberals and Christianity. You just make fools of yourselves every time you talk about religion. In fact, in spite of what you've heard from other liberals and Mormons, Jesus Himself was clear that salvation CANNOT be achieved by good deeds.

  • This is certainly amazing. Lightning strikes just as pilgrims are gathering in the mosque for 6:30 prayers to sat... er, Allah. And this, of course, is in the midst of the annual worldwide pilgrimage of Muslims to Mecca where they worship a black rock. Think about it. We all know how God feels about idolatry. He made its prohibition the first of His Ten Commandments. It's gotta piss Him off to see all these loonies chanting, praying to a false god, and touching a rock like it's magical.

    You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourself a graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them or serve them.

  • When I first saw the headline, I was skimming it and for a second thought it said "plane" instead of "crane", and was wondering if the pilot was American.
    I'm torn on how to react. Divine retribution is a nice thought, but it hardly seems like enough have met their maker to satisfy my sense of proportion.
    As far as the innocents are concerned, how many of the people that died in the WTC attack were armed military combatants?
    I find it hard to feel bad about this.
