ABC: Devastating sequester cuts? Give me a break! We have to ask. Is sequester latin for BS? This is a non-issue that’s barely newsworthy. Funny all you hear on the TV is: Sequester! Sequester! The sky is falling! Frankly it seems about one of the few ways to get the Congressional Clown Circus and Obama to spend a little less. We say let her rip.

A guy stopped at a local gas station & after filling his tank, he paid the bill and bought a soft drink. He stood by his car to drink his cola and watched a couple of men working along the roadside.
One man would dig a hole two or three feet deep and then move on.
The other man came along behind him and filled in the hole. While one was digging a new hole, the other was 25 feet behind filling in the hole.
The men worked right past the guy with the soft drink and went on down the road. "I can't stand this," said the man tossing the can into a trash container and heading down the road toward the men.
"Hold it, hold it," he said to the men. "Can you tell me what's going on here with all this digging and refilling?"
"Well, we work for the government and we're just doing our job," one of the men said. "But one of you is digging a hole and the other fills it up. You're not accomplishing anything. Aren't you wasting the taxpayers' money?"
"You don't understand, mister," one of the men said, leaning on his shovel and wiping his brow. "Normally there's three of us: me, Elmer and Leroy. I dig the hole, Elmer sticks in the tree, and Leroy here puts the dirt back.
Elmer's job's been cut... so now it's just me an' Leroy.

Since when does the fed pay local police and fire salaries?
This story is just what the subtitle suggest pure BS. Cutting the equivalent of 1.5 cent from the average household budget is not a tragic cut and all of the hand wringing from the left and the weak kneed RINOs is sickening.
The stupid don't get it, the takers don't care, it is only those that are actually working for a living realize that all of this is nothing more than a way to tax more out of us. All the time giving more to those who won't do a damn thing for themselves.
I say it's time to cut and cut deep. Let us start with the bloated salaries and perks congress has given to themselves. Then we can move over to the administration, cut all if the upper echelon members salary including der leaders. Just to make it fair and equal, cutting the vacation and travel budget for der leader and the wookie should move right to the top of the list.
Until even 1/2 of this is done all you "sky is falling criers" can STFU.

Obama is pretty upset that Congress is implementing his sequestration.
It has been said here many times before, but it bears repeating.
If there are going to be cuts, we should start with the most wasteful programs on earth:
1. The United Nations...we need to get out, throw them out of the country, and stop giving them a dime! Savings for 2013, $1.133 Billion.
2. Foreign Aid...stop sending ANY money, equipment, weapons, food, housing, etc, etc, etc, to any foreign country, even Israel, because we need to be consistent, and Israel really doesn't need out money. All the food and housing aid we have been sending overseas could go to people that are really deserving of the help here. There is no point in sending weapons to anyone, since they are potentially able to be directed at us (see stories about weapons sent to Egypt). Savings for 2013, $51.6 Billion
3. Eliminate the EPA. A long needed move. Savings for 2013 $8.344 Billion.
4. Eliminate Planned Parenthood. Nuff Said. Most recent figures I could find for PP are from 2008-2009, where government funding was $363.2 million, but some of that is state money from Medicaid.
5. Eliminate Dept of Homeland Security. Any questions? Savings for 2013, $39.5 Billion
6. Eliminate Welfare and requalify everyone, removing anyone that is illegally in the US. Approximate 2013 savings $451.9 Billion.
7.Eliminate Obamacare. Savings for 2013 $916.1 Billion
Cutting those 7 programs would result in a savings of $1.43 Trillion.
Not bad for just a starting point.
Everything except weapons for Israel. That was really my only irrevocable sticking point about the Libertarian platform. Without our backing they won't do well, and we won't do well without them.

The really sick thing here is that these "cuts" aren't really cuts but are actually just a reduction of the planned "increase" in spending. It's not like... OK, we spent 1 trillion last fiscal year, let's tighten the belt and try to keep spending from going over $850 billion next year. No, that is not the truth. The truth is... OK, we spent 1 trillion last fiscal year, and we have budgeted to spend 1.2 trillion next fiscal year. Let's try to spend only 1.1 trillion next fiscal year.
I would be very happy if the budget was only 1.2 trillion!

Would do a lot more good to cut some of "Dear Leader's" wasteful as hell social programs, but we all know how fond the Commiecrats are of using our money to buy votes.
All they are trying to do is scare the takers into believing that their money will go away.
