Remember when the Gusher in the Gulf started spewing oil? How they said it was going to be the worst environmental disaster in history? When they it was going to destroy all wildlife in the Gulf? When they said that the waters of the Gulf would become one giant dead zone?

The ecosystem of the Gulf itself turns out to have suffered remarkably little damage from the continuous gushing of oil into the water from April 20 till July 15, when the leaking well was capped. One group of scientists rated the health of the Gulf’s ecology at 71 on a scale of 100 before the spill and 65 in October. By mid-August, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) was having trouble finding spilled oil …
NOAA explained one reason for this in a report in August: “It is well known that bacteria that break down the dispersed and weathered surface oil are abundant in the Gulf of Mexico in large part because of the warm water, the favorable nutrient and oxygen levels, and the fact that oil regularly enters the Gulf of Mexico through natural seeps.” In other words, the organisms that normally live off the Gulf’s large natural seepage of oil into the water multiplied extremely rapidly and went on a feeding frenzy. Another 25 percent of the spilled oil—the lightest and most toxic part—simply evaporated at the surface or dissolved quickly.Damage to wildlife, too, was relatively sparse.
Environmentalists responded by saying, “Yeah, but…yeah, but…yeah, but….”

How about some of you listen to the people who live in the gulf area? Just because you can't see the oil doesn't mean everything's fine. Like Sidekick up there said, you guys believe global warming is a hoax, yet you believe your government on this? "25% of the oil on the surface evaporated." When's the last time you've seen oil evaporate?
I don't care which side is pushing a story -- I'll take everything the government says with some very large grains of salt.
Of course we don't believe the gov't story. I'm having fun with their "what do you believe -- me, your president, or your lyin' eyes?" bit.
Especially since the spill damage is their flimsy-assed justification for why they put so many people out of work. They want it both ways, and we have to call attention to it.

I smell a rat, too. But I bet a *lot* of oil rig workers would like their jobs back -- if there's no oil spill, Will Barry let them go back to work? Didn't think so.
There was a lot going on on many different sides things like Petrobas and so on and then out of a sudden poof it all went nowhere. It is too weird that all of a sudden environmentalists are not all gung ho about this. Someone is always benefitting from whatever it is happening. Be it the silence or increase amount of noise and the thing to do is like Glenn Beck says look at the other hand and see what that hand is doing.
The only environmental disaster is the Government.. They can't understand how the oil leak (not spill) has fixed itself. Silly to think that Nature knows how to act without a gubamint regulaton.

Don't believe it. I live on the Gulf and the effects will be felt for years. The Regime is silencing potential whistle blowers through threats and intimidation. One now requires a federal permit just to take water and ground samples for analysis Do you really think all of that oil just breaks down and goes away? How can the same people who rightfully acknowledge that global warming is a hoax and then swallow the Feds line that the Gulf is fine? Because it is what they want to hear just like the libs want to believe that man is heating the planet to further their agenda.
Lemme see, man made global warming is theory and none of the predictions are have been correct and the so-called science has been proven to be faulty. Whereas oil in the water can be detected by proven science unless the results are being skewed. But who in the Obama administration would want to make things easy for BP?
You couldn't miss the point any more than that. Go ahead and eat all of the Mississippi Gulf shrimp and oysters you can. There is a lot at stake here and the oil conveniently disappearing helps out a lot of people especially BHO. Go ahead and think the Gulf has recovered. You are just like the other lemmings who thought AGW was/is real.

Is the photograph depicting that all-time famous president of yours finding what he thinks is a speck of oil, having scoured the whole of that beach? Has he found a lost coin? Or is he merely stubbing out his cigarette?
