Hmm, well, I don't think that's a fair assessment either. I think the only real question is why did they wait so long. There is at least one good reason I can think of, that they were monitoring him to build intelligence, see who his buddies were and trace the networks. But these dimwits aren't even sharp enough to try floating that.
