The real irony to this is that they are constantly running ads, having meetings and assemblies tellingkids to get involved to stop bullying. Typical lose-lose situation
Okay so what happened was that he was a vigilante and therefore the officials did not like vigilantes and he had to be punished for being a vigilante.
The truth is that things are better when good kids step in. There is a saying about how evil gets to remain when good people do nothing? In any case, this is what happens when good tries to overrun evil, evil doesn't want to let up. The teachers need to take things on a case by case basis.
The bully exists because they intimidate people, then he doesn't like being intimidated, that is because they are cowards, but that is what it was needed and it is better a good kid do it than a teacher that could get in trouble. There are times when officials just need to look the other way.
One of my kids got bullied and I went to the school, heard theircspiel about it was a good thing she didn't fight back, or she would have been sent to alternate school with the criminals. I told t h emin no uncertain terms that she would never bepunished, much less sent to alternate school for defending herself.. They interviewed her and c a lledme a couple of days later to assure me she wouldn't face any consequences. Later that year. Shevwas student of the month for the entire school. Idiots to even THINK of punishing her when she was physically attacked!
It is next to Chitcago, enough said......That Blimp that runs their school union would have probably either beaten the kid or eaten him for lunch...
His dad is right, he should be a hero, but in today's school doing the right thing makes you a zero..had this kid asked the bully on a gay date, they would have made him the school superintendent..
There is a state sponsored crusade against doing the right thing because such acts impede the burgeoning bureaucracy that is poised to address a crisis that it absolutely needs in order to justify taking away more freedoms- including free speech. That is another case of school officials demonstrating their unfitness.
More stupid no non common sense by the indoctornators, I mean educators. This young man handled it as he should've. The principal is the one who screwed up and won't bring himself to admit it.
Of course he was suspended, he acted too much like a conservative.
He was suspended because he was doing a Union Teacher's job!
He acted like a human being.
Its good to see kids these days with some manner of intelligence and heart. Sitting down and discussing the situation was the right thing, but getting suspended for "threatening guestures" is silly.
When I was in high school it was the football players who did a good deal of the bullying, how things change.
