• I found out that what he was doing was capping the amount that one can sue in order to avoid frivolous lawsuits and ambulance chasers to take advantage of the system. If that is true then she was misleading which is not surprising.

  He sued the homeowners because they had a rotten tree that they knew was rotten and I believe if I am not mistaken were told to cut it down. If that is true and they didn't and with knowledge that it could fall at any moment, he went running on a windy day and got paralyzed for life... so yeah I can understand him suing. Not sure how much money he made out of that, but if he is seeking (for himself and others) to not OVER DO IT with the lawsuits I can understand how that is good for EVERYBODY.

  So it seems it is not like he was blocking justice for people, it is just that he is not into excessive lawsuits that plug the court system. It seems a bit "cold blooded" in certain cases I am sure to people, but in the end, having a cap on how much you can actually pursue in a lawsuit would make it harder for frivolous lawsuits and for hucksters who are only in it for the money and then make it better and faster for those who are truly in need of the money to sue equitably and sensibly.

  So it seems that even the point that she was trying to make was faulty at best.

  • 10million or so was his reward. Tort reform got really Mmmmmmmmmm popular awhile back. Nearly EVERYONE was saying there should be caps on awards. The courts were nonfunctional because of . Lawsuits over anything, and no matter the outcome of the trials there were appeals from both sides, so theystayed in the system forever. Most of her ads take a sentece or two out of something Abbot said or did, then takes it completly out of context to make it sensational. She is counting on the idiots who never do any research or fact checking to believe her lies.

  • Using actors to "embellish a story" or "make a point hit home" is so common now that I do not trust the news one bit. And I'm right there with you in doubting the reality of this.

• She MAY have had a point: He enriched himself out of his accident by (rightfully) suing, however, he dedicated his time AFTER that to put blocks on others who also had the right to sue when they were oppressed or victimized.

  However, she did not make the point eloquently and without stupidity and therefore that gets lost in all of this.

  Do not know if it is true or not what she is claiming if it is true then I have to ask why and so on and so forth so I cannot comment on her claims with certainty, but she could have been smarter about it IF true.

• This is normal behavior for Democrats-but logic would tell anyone that if you do what she did last week, and the public goes bananas, you pull the ad, and go on tv and beg for forgiveness, while admitting you made a terrible decision.

  Instead, this dumb bitch's even dumber campaign manager thought it would be wise to add insult to injury and drag a bunch of cripples on stage, in a wildly sociopathic attempt to claim they love them some crips! Pox on the crippled folks for allowing Davis to use them as chattle for her ill-conceived attempt to prove the world wrong about her....and pox on Davis for listening to the 20 something campaign manager and doing something so f**king stupid, even other DemocRATS are absolutely appalled by. These folks are too stupid to dress themselves in matching outfits, but want to run Texas, the 10th or so largest economy on earth. Terrifying.

  • The actual goal is to 'dilute" Texas, not run it. As you pointed out, they simply aren't capable of running anything. Certainly not something that represents everything they despise.

    • Oh no. You don't live here, see the ads, hear the news. The Democrats ran Texas outright for decades, and they want to go back to that status. Their oft repeated goal is to turn Texas blue. When I first voted back in the day, most people registered as Democrats, because most races were determined at the primary level. Once thevelection rolled around, there were generally no competing candidates. I don't ever want to see it like that again.

  • That doesn't seem like anything. They pulled him out of the way so the speaker could use the microphone.

    • It's the optics of it. He said he asked them to, but it looks bad. Especially after the fallout from the ad. They could have planned around the microphone.
