Those are hardly the comprehensive reasons and references I've been asking for. And you haven't been paying much attention if you think they're news to the posters here. I'm against the federal reserve. I'd like a return to the gold standard. And I'd like a free market so that "corporate greed" would result in so many corporations being formed that they would have to compete for consumer dollars by producing better products for less money. And they'd have to compete for labor by offering more money and better jobs.
But "corporate greed" did not create the federal reserve. That was the government. In fact quite a lot of the proponents for the federal reserve argued that it was necessary to remove monetary fluctuations that could be manipulated or rather were created because of the "capitalists". Does J.P. Morgan saving he gold reserves ring a bell for you?
And as for moving off the gold standard . . . well that was the government too. A large part of the reasoning for that was so that government could spend far beyond its means. Some of that was for wars and military spending. Now I am against unchecked military spending . . . but a reasonable amount is necessary and one of the only legitimate functions of the state. And a lot more of this government spending has been wasted on social programs. Social programs like the ones you subsist off of John. So why don't you do what you can to end the system that has made this "corporate greed" possible. Get a job and pay your way. Stop giving the government an excuse to support this system you only half despise.
