How unpopular are the FCC’s new net neutrality regulations? Even liberal Senator Al Franken objects to this outrageous power grab.
He took to the floor of the Senate to deliver a speech that sounded more like “Mr Smith Goes To Washington” than “Saturday Night Live.” He lambasted Federal Communications Commission Chairman Julius Genachows’ proposed regulations.
“I sincerely hope that the FCC will make significant improvements before then,” Franken said, “and that each of the Commissioners will think long and hard before they vote to approve a proposal that could actually make things worse for all Americans.”
Hey, here’s an idea, Al. How about if the United States Senate actually takes its Constitutional responsibilities seriously and slaps down this bureaucratic fiat.
Nah, what are we talking about? That’s just crazy talk.

I did not vote for him...
I really don't like the man...
That said, maybe, just maybe even HE understands that this is bad idea. As a comedian & radio host, Franken should understand cencorship & the type of control the FCC wants would make it way too easy to do that. I hope that as a politician Franken will REALLY stand up against this power grab. I want to believe this, I really do.
I figure that old Al Wanken', being a 3rd class wanker, doesn't want his internets cleaned of pr0n. It'd be awful embarrassing if the feds gained control of the internet, and figured out where he's been going. All them nude pics of Ernest Borgnine in garters and heels are probably copyrighted, you know.
In general, thinking ahead doesn't seem to be most libs' strong suit -- you know, all for censorship of the Right, but somehow think they can keep an exemption for themselves.
Anybody notice that Al has an uncanny resemblance to Bawney Fwank?
