Yup. No such thing as radical Islam. At least that’s what Alan Colmes tried to tell Megyn Kelly. And she was just about as dumbfounded by this surprising announcement as you are.
Kelly: Alan, why not just say it? The man (Eric Holder) would clearly like to stick a hot poker in his eye than admit that “radical Islam” may have been a factor (in the Times Square attempted bombing).
Colmes: Why is Congressman Lamar Smith so insistent that you’ve gotta say these words? Why is he so insistent to use the name of a religion?
Kelly: Answer my question. Why would he rather stick a hot poker in his eye than say “radical Islam”?
Colmes: Because there’s no such a thing as radical Islam.
Kelly: What?
Colmes: It is not part of the religion. People are not doing this in the name of true Islam.
In other news, Alan Colmes has announced that there’s no such thing as believing your own eyes.

colmes is a coward, I don't know why he sucks up to the likes of muslums terrorists but I know he doesn't have the balls to confront them on anything, he's typical liberal and not worthy of my respect.
For once I agree with Colmes. Or at least I agree that those we might think of as radical Islamists are not fall into the traditional definition of radical. Radical suggests that they want to change Islam from what it is. That is true to an extent but it must also be considered that what they want to change it to is the way it was practiced some centuries ago and according to the example set forth by Mohamed. This makes them reactionaries and fundamentalists. A small point I know but as this is likely the only time I will agree with Colmes -albeit superficially - I thought it important to make the most of it.
You make a good point. All in all if one reads the Koran and the biography of Mohammed one comes to see that Islam was extremely violent in its beginning and its heyday and it was an ACCEPTED part of the religion. Many Muslims have made the decision now, to go "moderate" YET there are those that want to have a Islamic Empire again and do whatever is necessary for it to happen and in the course kill all infidels and jews JUST like they did back in the day, so you are right, it makes them islamic fundamentalists which would be a more appropriate term for them, but even so... even so people like Colmes will still claim that Islam is NOW a religion of peace and there is no need to bring in the name of Islam into the actions of the terrorists EVEN THOUGH, as you well explained, they are deriving their actions from the fundamental/historical practices of the religion.
Excellent point about Colmes (and the like), they will never be able to admit the obvious . . . but it is soooo entertaining to watch them deny it!
how could i get one thumbs down!?
Colmes' insistence would be akin to me saying there's no such thing as fargin' iceholes and cork-sucking bastidges walking the planet... even though I'm looking straight at him.
This is (another) reason I stopped watching Fox and spend more time on sites like this. I dont want or need Colmes opinions. They are as predictable as Sharpton (another Fox "contributor") and just as appealing.
Besides, I think he looks like Skeletor - creepy.
He either had plastic surgery or way too much botox he looks terrible. He should sue whoever did his face.
maybe not, but i swear ive heard alan use the words "radical christianity"
also, when has anyone NOT pointed out that people killing abortion doctors were christians? its always pointed out with glee!
Muslims have accepted that this is a radical form or twisting of their religion. It may not be CORE Koran or CORE Islam, it could be a perversion of Islam but it DERIVES from Islam and thus the term radical Islam is appropriate.
The reason why ppl who shoot up abortion doctors and blah blah blah who claim to be Christians are not deemed radical Christians is two fold: FIRST Christian leaders and Christian people in general and in majority come out IMMEDIATELY to denounce such an act and that such an act is categorically AGAINST the core and general beliefs that constitute Christianity. Second: Such an act does not derive from Christianity it is foreign to it and hence the reason why a lone person claiming to be a Christian and doing an act of violence is not considered a radical christian. Anyone and their mother can claim to be a Christian but if their actions prove to be categorically against the faith then that person is not deemed a Christian just a person that claims to be a Christian. There is a marked difference.
Anyone for sure can claim to be a Muslim and do things that are categorically against the core values of the religion however the problem here is that radical Muslims can effectively turn to their book to explain the reasons for their actions* whereas no Christian can truly turn to the Bible and say well it says here that it is right to murder people who abort kids. No such thing in the Bible. Overall like said by others, Muslims understand that their past and the way they did things derived from their understanding of their faith (like conquering and enslaving people and murdering ppl if they didnt become muslim), however a lot of muslims made a decision to NOT implement that anymore and that is why a lot of Muslims see themselves as moderate Muslims, because they do not adhere to the violent parts that are indicated and sanctioned in their religion as per their book.
*The Koran is very explicit about what to do with unbelievers and even believers who do not adhere to the faith completely and in many cases the explicit indications are violent in nature.
Right on brother. 100% on target.
Sister lol. Thanks!
Another metroman, the evidence for what it is to be muslum is right before your eyes stupid, you see it everyday thruogh beheadings, car bombs, screaming diatribes etc.
colmes is right.
and unless you have actually taken the time to read a koran, i dont think you could honetly say what it is to be a mulim.
and no, im not a muslim.
He may be right. But that doesn't matter when he is trying to convince me not to say that when Muslims have accepted the term themselves.
He's the typical liberal metroman
