Alvin Greene makes an interesting campaign appearance. Yeah, let’s go with “interesting.”

Apparently, when your campaign’s on a limited budget, you’re forced to do whatever you can to get TV time. Even if it means paying your way into the South Carolina State Fair and making a fool of yourself.

In this clip, South Carolina Democrat Alvin Greene works his way into the background as a local TV reporter does a live story from the fair. That’s Alvin wearing the green T-shirt and cap just over the reporter’s left shoulder. Yeah, that’s right. He’s the one waving and making rabbit ears over the reporter’s head.

Amazingly enough, 11% of South Carolina voters still say they’re going to vote for this guy.

If that South Carolina election doesn’t work out for you, Alvin, move to California. We’ve already elected Governor Moonbeam and Barbara Boxer, so your odds are considerably better out here.

    Who says South Carolinians don't have a sense of humor for the absurd?

    • Actually, for Dems, it might be important to go vote for Greene. Some states (I don't know about SC) require a certain percentage of the vote for parties to stay on the ballot & for debates. As much as Greene sucks, some Dems may feel the need to vote for him in the name of the party, despite knowing he's never going to win.

      • Thanks for pointing that out danybhoy--it's very likely true. That and Demint is so feared by the left (he is, after all, a TRUE conservative) that a lot of libs are just voting against him and would vote for a rock if they could...

        But, USN-RETIRED, a lot of us South Carolinians do have a sense of humor and some of my conservative buddies and I have joked about the Greene situation quite a bit ;-)

        • But DeMint caused the recession, Greene says so in every interview. So HOW can the fine people of South Carlina return the man who caused the recession back to Congress?

            Seriously, though, Greene has like four (and only four) lines that he recycles in his interviews. Reminds me of those pull-string toys. You pull the string on the action figure's back and it pseudorandomly picks from one of a handful of things to say...

            The Dems could probably get more votes if they ran a parrot (hatched in the US of course ) that could repeat their talking points.

  • Okay there is something SERIOUSLY wrong with this man. This is not normal. It will be very interesting to learn the whole truth here. How come we don't know more about this man?

    In my mind's eye I keep thinking about this guy as a Bizarro version of Obama*.

    *Not stating of course that Obama is Superman as he so arrogantly joked about a year ago, just making a point.

    • KQ, you do realize that Greene is the type of person who would be a 3rd party fringe candidate in just about every other election in America. You'll laugh trying to remember this guy 10 years from now.

      Also, how great COULD his election night party be if it were done right?
