Amazon: £7bn sales, no UK corporation tax: Apparently the author of this story didn’t know how best to frame this story. Let us do it for them. Without corporate taxes Amazon was able to save consumers millions upon millions of pounds that would otherwise have gone to buy votes for some government despot looking to eat up even more of their property. Yeah economic liberty!

If anyone doesn't know - or if this truth isn't self-evident from the article itself- The Guardian is a notoriously left-wing mouthpiece, perhaps even the flagship of Red propaganda in Britain, and has been for ages.
The Guardian makes the NYTimes look like a conservative rag.
I'm pissed at Amazon because the new Angry Birds isn't available free for the Kindle Fire, they want $10 for it!
I got it free on my phone.

Now with that said Amazon is fantastic I dont care about taxes like I always say: taxation = oppression.
No corporation pays taxes. ALL taxes are paid by the end consumer.
So true . . . and yet somehow the majority of Americans are completely oblivious to this fact. Or how high it jacks up the cost of living.
TAXATION = OPPRESSION
No company that wants to be viable and profitable absorbs taxes. Government believes that taxing businesses keeps them from taxing people, obviously they dont understand how business works.
A company (or any entity) is doing everything possible to avoid paying taxes, I'm shocked.
I like Amazon, I love my kindle (although I'm pissed e-books aren't as cheap as predicted), I'm getting into Amazon Instant Video (the only reason I have cable is for the Phillies and Flyers games), I don't need to use any credit card information since I simple go to a store and buy gift cards, it's great.
So Amazon doesn't want to pay taxes, we have something in common, although I'm not a giant corporation who can get away with it.
You'd be amazed how many really good books are free for your Kindle. Whenever I'm searching in a topic, I set the page to arrange the books in order from least expensive to most expensive, then buy the free ones. I rarely pay more than a couple bucks for a book.
