They stayed in a Catholic charity. Not in the Vatican. Catholic Charites are funding much of the "refugee" movement to the U.S. at this point. Just one more reason I'm not impressed with them.

The Vatican is completely contained within Italy. Try as I might, I can't find a story where Pope Frank advised the Italian government to welcome with open arms all the boat people floating across from Libya. Until he does that to the country on which he depends for toilet paper and everything else, he lacks the moral credentials to pontificate (sorry - a little) to us.

That's what I was thinking too? I'm fine with opening a door for people that can add to our society, but first you need something on either side of the door, otherwise people just go around the door.
