Animas River fouled by 1 million gallons of contaminated mine water

• Hey, hey EPA, how many fish did you kill today!

• Remember the BP oil spill? When there was a mark (BP) to shake down for money, Obama, the MSM and EPA were at their fear-mongering best about the toxic and negative effects of the spill. Now, with the darling, beloved environmentalists responsibe, why, a spill is nothing to be so concerned about. Just shows you what gangsters the democrats and MSM really are.

• A loon with the Fish and Game department said today that the wildlife in the area will not be affected by the spill. If that were true then why are people being warned not to use the water in any way, including for bathing? Are these gooberment loons really that stupid?

  The mess has reached the Navajo reservation and their governor has said he will sue the EPA for all cleanup costs and to pay compensation to everyone who depends on the San Juan for their livelihood and drinking water. Our governor, Susana Martinez said today she is looking to do the same since this will have a negative effect on all the people living on the river, and those who depend on it for their living, for years to come. I hope the governors of Colorado, Utah and Arizona follow suit and do all they can to put the EPA out of business in the southwest.

    Suing them won't make any difference. When it all comes down, we will be the ones paying for it, through our taxes. They won't even feel the tiniest bit of pain.

  • Yeah, I was going to mention that too. So the EPA was lying about the amount originally, trying to minimize the damage they've done, and they've been caught. The spill was three times larger than they said. I'm sure if it was miners lying like this, Obama's Justice Department would be weighing criminal charges.

    • It came out today that about 500 gallons per minute were still flowing out of the mine. This shit isn't done yet, not by any stretch of the imagination.

        • Pretty much what I was thinking.
          Since these functionaries are working under direct orders from King Barky the Maleficent, there can be no penalty, because what was done was merely an accident, and only governmental functionaries are allowed to make mistakes.

• Wait until the sludge reaches Lake Powell, we will really hear the loons screaming about the spill. The Animas flows into the San Juan near Farmington then on to the Colorado River at Lake Powell. Some of the best trout fishing known to man was in the two rivers but that will be gone for years to come now. I wonder if the shit heads at the EPA are going to pay the local businesses the millions they will lose in tourist business because of their screwup?

    • I'm wondering about the three states involved, Colorado, New Mexico and Utah and whether they will hammer the EPA over this. All three have a good case against the fools and if they can get a settlement out of the Obummer administration they could pass it on to those who will lose business because of the spill.

  • Yep. Two of the most worthless government entities had their roots in the 70s, the EPA under Nixon and The Department of Education under Carter. Needlessly wasteful programs that should be the poster child for how badly government policy has fvcked this country over the last forty plus years.
